$550k will barely get you a one bedroom condo in Van. I wonder which will appreciate more in 25 years

Price : $550,000 + $495 doc fee

... you'd think that if you drop 1/2 a mil, maybe dealer could forego the $500 doc fee?

Because its a 550,000 car you get to pay the awesome 25 percent luxury car tax so, technically that is a 687,000 Used Porsche. LOL. Ya no thanks.
Screw the dealer and curbers.

It’s 20% PST and 5% GST

Don’t worry, you can just resell the car in China and get the taxes back with interest.

Nothing I love more than paying tax on a made up document fee.

Drivers quality 05 Carrera S 121km 6spd $42k Worthy of a PPI. I drove this when it was $45k a few months ago and enjoyed it.

yeah crap, a few months back (maybe a year) i saw a few 997.2's going for the 50k mark. Now they are all like 58 for the cab, or 60+ for the coupes.

How expensive is Porsche maintenance? I've had 2 accquaintences tell me that they only need a $1k-ish service every year, although that is strictly street driving, and they are totally not car people. And then you sometimes come across horror stories where they tell you a little sensor thing breaks, and costs $4k to fix.

Seems like 997.1 prices have fallen while 997.2 prices have gone up. There are some articles floating around that explain the reliability of the 997.2 (no IMS or bore scoring).

Porsche thread needed ha

My 993 was $300 for an oil change at an indy shop. Parts are not cheap for Porsche and service often takes longer than a regular car. Expect to pay more for everything cus Porsche tax. Still wonderful cars.

Too bad this doesn't have that executive reclining rear seat package. But it's still a lot of car for that money.

$1k-ish is doable if maintenance is limited to fluids/filters. Helps if you can perform basic maintenance. Oil changes are super easy. When you start talking about consumables like water pumps (post 993), tires, brakes, clutch, etc... you'll need a bigger budget. If you want to modify your Porsche, better hold onto your hats. Like TouringTeg said, P-car tax is real.

You’re right about the tops, but no go on the 46. As a vert the e36 is so much better looking unless you get into facelift zhp look cars.

True story. 6 years later and my 911 is still mostly stock because of sticker shock.
