95,000 KM Beater. You will literally repel any p*ssy you come across... but you will arrive A to B and even Z if needed.

These are my secret fetish. CLK430 hairdresser mobile. Very reliable, easy to work on and lots of space to access things in the engine bay for when things to break. Common issues as to why $5000 examples never cut it: these like to rust at the front fenders, and by 180-200k KM the interior likes to rattle / squeak.

32,000 KM local BC car with the AMG wheels. $12,800 dealer price.

^ LOL at the Corolla ad saying it’s RWD

That slightly purple brown colour has to be one of the worst colours Toyota ever put on a car. Just being near it is like saying “Good night sweet prince” to your cock.

Ugly and rare are not mutually exclusive. See Pontiac Aztek.

True.

Yes it's my car and yes it's a super good buy.

Basically I ordered a new car and dealer offered me $18,000 only. The Canadian Black Book trade-in value for this car is $22,600 to $24,620.

If there's no takers then it will just get traded in for approximately 10 grands below how much it's actually worth.

Now is your time to snatch it up. Totally mint 13 STi hatchback.

What? I don't see your car posted. The dealer has to pay below bluebook for obvs reasons.

I think he is just posting his car now. What he should have done is pasted the link first, then state "Yes it's my car..." below the link.

I think it's very fair to say that if the dealer is offering you $18,000, you should not expect people to pay you more than $21,000 to $21,500.. The same thing happened with my TSX. The dealer offered me $5,000 trade-in (+tax savings = $5,600), and I was trying to sell it for $6,000 or even $5,800 to some serious buyers, but nobody was willing to take it. Now the dealer is selling it for $8,000+doc fee+tax. I know for a fact the car needed nothing, and I even detailed it+kept it clean, so they didn't have to do any work other than a quick in&out cleaning.

TL;DR: you should only expect about 5% more than what the dealer is offering you for trade-in, should you choose to go that route. Time is obviously a constraint here; if you wanted more money for your car, you should have not ordered your new car so soon. Your best bet is to patiently sell it privately.

Not to be that guy but you can find that hatch body style for 20k all year long. Asking 26,500 is a stretch. At least compared to the dealer offer of 18

Although I didn’t get an exact number for my trade in from a dealer, they gave me an estimate of $1500 for the last TSX which was traded in. I sold mine for 8k.

Jmac 08-14-2019 01:36 PM

I was offered $2.5k for my Civic back in 2015, sold it privately for $4k

This is why if I see a used car at a dealer that I'm interested in, I start my offer at ~$2000 off list price and you can usually end up a pretty close to that amount.

This.

I had a friend recently buy the same body style with 92k for $17,000. You'll easily find buyers at $20-21 at your mileage if you're looking to squeeze a few more $$$. Patience is key!

68style 08-14-2019 02:45 PM

Haha you think everyone here was born yesterday... $18,000 trade-in... so you're getting a value of $20,160 including the tax savings toward your new car... and you think someone is going to give you $26,800 and that they're getting a good deal?

Whatever....... tell you what, I'll give you $20,161 for it man. You're getting $1 profit over your existing deal so it's still better for you.

First rule of business? Don't tell your buyer(s) your cost maybe? lol... if you think anyone is going to offer you anything more than $21k knowing all this you're crazy. They'll just walk away and tell you to go ahead and trade it in and you're out an extra $840 you could have had. No one here is going to do you the favour of making extra money at their cost.

Nothing worse than when someone plugs their own car in here AND it's nowhere near a good buy.

rb 08-14-2019 04:40 PM

I think i made a rule for this thread years ago about posting your car up unless its actually a good buy. Unfortunately, I haven't been on RS in awhile and forgot how to ban ppl from specific threads :lol

I think he’s aware of the VI stuff because it currently needs inspection

Looking to sell as it requires the following VERY MINOR TWEAKS before it will pass vehicle inspection:

Honestly it looks so riced out I wouldn’t even bother going to check it out. Plus since it needs inspections... no thanks.
I would love to find a low mileage unmolested e46 m3 for the right price. Preferably 2003.5-2006
I saw there was a convertible for 29k with only 16km. That would be my dream but IMO priced a little high considering convertible doesn’t fetch as much as coupe.

Special K 08-14-2019 11:47 PM

Got this last week. Finally after drooling all over it since high school 15 years ago.
