try safely skipping/pausing bluetooth music without a mount, and if you're gonna have a windshield/fan mount, you've already lost on the aesthetics argument
if one strictly uses paper maps/ask for directions to cars and coffee in their collector's then i'll admit defeat

does this hurt resale value doe?

official collector status shouldn't have to mean giving up some modern safety/conveniences that we've come to expect as standard (ABS, nav, airbags etc)

Collector plates are for original cars. If you want to add modern amenities, fine, but you won't qualify, nor should you.

Otherwise people start putting double dins, projectors, LED's, tint, and a bunch of other crap, for the sake of "modern conveniences/safety"

And yes, if that car is otherwise original, any buyer would look at it and wonder WTF the guy was thinking. It looks like crap in there.

Absolutely.

Just this morning I saw someone with a heavily orange peeled NA Miata with collector plates on Marine - likely on her way to work given her outfit and time of day.

I'm fine with minimal concessions given the amount of abuse the program seems to get these days.

CCA-Dave 08-22-2019 12:11 PM

lol. You know, back in the day before dash-mounted GPS, we managed to drive and find places without "visual cues". If you need your GPS, and visual experience in a collector-plated classic, you buy a windshield mount for your phone and remove it. You don't put a modern stereo in, which is absolutely not allowed under the program.

Driving with earbuds in is garbage. Lol at putting a deck in your car and it’s ruined.

Gerbs 08-22-2019 12:54 PM

I don't think you're allowed to have both earbuds in your ear while driving

nsx042003 08-22-2019 12:57 PM

No idea if this is a good buy or not, but it's a super beautiful colour on the G coupe and looks flawless............... also thought the thread needed to get back on track.

We can start a collector plate discussion thread if needed?

clean car.

always liked how the stock G35 coupes sounded with that distinct warble.

a refreshing car to see as most are trashed, neglected or straight piped then drifted into walls by now.

Absolutely agree. My first post '00 car I've owned in a long time. I just got so tired of fixing squeaks, creeks and rattles, visiting the wreckers every other week for my late eighties imports. Though I'm still a firm believer that it was the pinnacle era.

The PO had done the "muffler delete" which consists of cutting the muffler at the flange to make it sound like ass. Fixed that but just need to replace the leaking aftermarket y pipe with the oem one sitting in my trunk. Always loved that throaty oem sound on these. beautiful cars, IMO in clean stock form. And thankfully, as they age, i think they're beginning to lose that stigma.
I really don't think that's a very good buy though. Not for an auto and 04

Decent looking fc. Nice color anyways.
Coolant seals blown but na engines aren't too bad to rebuild. If the housings aren't trash. Says compression test done though

To each their own for sure. I definitely see the appeal to ditching the rotary. They are a lot more fun though, IMO. so long as you don't mind periodically dealing with cold start or idle issues and terrible fuel economy. Those na can be made pretty quick too

Mazda RX-8 - $3500

This 6MT Cayenne GTS has been For Sales for YEARS.
I remebered seeing its ad in summer 2017 when I was shopping around for SUV.
