What's a typical discount like on a new 718?

In the US, it seems pretty typical to be able to negotiate a 3 - 5% discount off the MSRP for a new Porsche -- at least, that's what I've gleaned from some of the Porsche forums that I follow.

In the local market, I am under the impression that the Vancouver and Langley dealers will try very hard to persuade a buyer to pick up a "conventional Porsche" from their inventory, and whatever is in the inventory is typically loaded with a lavish options list that I have no little interest in, but is missing the stuff that I'd like. On top of that, I'd prefer a more minimalist options list on a Porsche since the OTD price will climb very quickly if you don't exercise restrain. But I am skeptical that the Vancouver and Langley dealers would have a serious interest in entertaining a minimally optioned new car order.

This is going for 36k usd for a 2014 V8 Supercharged model seems pretty reasonable
You might have hit it dead on - that's weird. $36K x 1.34 = $48,240. Looks like the price is high across Canada.

Cheapest coupe V8 Supercharged model is a 2015 from Calgary Lamborghini at $64.9K

Cheapest vert V8 Supercharged model is a 2014 in Sherwood Park at $57.5K

Super cheap vert V8 supercharged from ghetto kingsway looking place in Vaughan for $38.8K

In that case, I wonder if that additional couple % discount is really worth it.

That said, I wonder how allocation of orders/vehicles works at the dealer level.

Porsche Center Vancouver or Langley would be happy for you to build whatever car you want whatever way you want to. They won't care if you want to build a stripper spec (several local PCA members have) That's literally the whole point of the Carrera T.

I wouldn't expect a discount on something that wasn't already on the lot though.

Mm good to know.
Have been heavily considering euro delivery on a 718 in a year or two!

Will need to compare US and CAN pricing tho.... some cars are a good 10k cheaper on the Canadian side rn due to regional pricing.

First thing I'd ask is if the headgasket was done. If that's unknown, I'd walk.

For a $2500, facelifted model, absolutely. As long as it drives true and the drivetrain is good. The drivetrain swap alone, is worth it. I'm not an RSX fan but would consider it a cheap driver, that I could use as a donor down the road.

Yah, guess so. Put it into a CSX and you have yourself a nice little CSX Type S for cheap.

I'd still swap into an eg/ek.

Actually, I'd use a K24 bottom end from a late TSX. Modern day B20Z VTEC

Edit. That's also an awesome swap for a Honda Fit.

Low mileage 2002 Lexus LS430; I'd verify the mileage. Could be a good buy if it's well documented/serviced.

No way only 75k on the LS. My dads 400h has 200k and the leather looks better than this. It’s probably 175k. 10k is way too high

That's encroaching on 460 pricing.

If you want LS430 luxury and don't mind RHD:
https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van...970124101.html
$3500 Celsior

I'd rock this if it was closer:
