What are you selling? I remember i was trying to sell my 2014 Jaguar XFR-S in 2017, best offer i got was $42 grand for a car i paid over 100, grand for. I just said fuck it, modded it and kept it.

I paid almost 200k for my mazzy back in 08 and now I’m only asking 53k. If I get 50k I think it’s reasonable but these assholes all want it for like 20-30k. Considering it only has 44,000kms on it and a full service record from Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver and not a single claim or accident, I think it’s an amazing deal already.

Fuck these pricks. Im just going to drive it till the wheels fall off.

I feel for you, man. Pretty much the exact same thing happened to a couple of years ago when I tried selling my old man's VW, and my mom's Mercedes.

At the time, we were offered $6k for trade in on the VW. Most ads on CL was listing the car for $9 - $10k. I listed mine at $7.5k since I wanted a quick sale. I've had offers ranging from anything between $4k - $6k. In fact, the guy that ended up buying it initially offered $6k after I told him the dealershp offered $6k trade in. I forgot how much I ended up selling the car to him for -- it was probably in the +/- $7k range. I know we ended up getting a touch more money from the private sale than if we had traded it in (after accounting for the trade in tax credit), but it would have been far less troublesome to just trade it in.

And then with my mom's Mercedes, we were offered $4k for trade in, I think? I think I listed it at $5k, and we received a $3.5k offer, and a $4.2k offer. We ended up just trading the car in.

(Afterwards, the dealership listed it at $9.7k.)

Honestly, selling cars privately is just a major PITA. So much BS.

So long story short... a friend of mine sent me this before it went live. He knows this guy, and he owns a shady used car dealer.
We went to check it out yesterday because my friend always admired his car and was wanting to scoop it.

- Said engine only has 18,000 KM. Leaks from oil pan gasket, maybe RMS.
- Said the body has 95,000 KM
- Cluster said 18,000 KM
- Overspray everywhere
- Front Rad support bent and mangled
- Rear Rebar bent and has overspray
- All panel gaps, front and rear, were not even.
- He was racing in Port Moody, spun out on Snake Hill, hit a curb and the construction pylons on the curb dented the door. Saw scuffs on the LCA's and wheels were curbed.
- Top wouldn't open

edit: The heartbreaking part about this is, my friend really trusted this guy as a friend and he tried to cover up all of these issues. Telling me the KM's are not rolled back etc... it was so cringe to talk to him and hear him lying through his teeth.

That's pretty cheap asking price. My guess is that his stereo/GPS/sub setup probably cost more than half of asking price of car.

2007 Audi A3, 189K, DSG, $3990. Timing belt , water pump , transmission fluid , brakes and rear rotors recently changed. Seller could use some help with taking pics but ... decent deal for a car with this mileage and maintenance.
