the automatic transmissions on older V70 wagons (pre-2004) are made of glass. Replacing a failed trans will cost more than the car is worth. The AWD system is failure prone. Find a FWD with a manual and they're not too bad but examples with a manual are quite rare.

^ None at all....

They don't keep the stock seats inside cars that carry prisoners, the seats are removed and replaced with an all plastic insert that doesn't have seatbelts they can use as weapons or nice leather to rip up.

Are those Taurus RWD? Would be a wild sleeper with some tweaks

If you've been eyeing a used car (or new) at a dealer, this is the best week to get a deal ... 6 days left in 2019. Last chance for sales dept to get their stats up for the year.

"its the end of one decade, you guys want to do a deal right" :troll:

Eh, I wouldn't pay $2,800 for that. That pricing is getting pretty damn close to a 2000's civic.

That thing was un-remarkble new, and terrible now.

tofu1413 12-26-2019 05:26 PM

Dang. Ron Burgundy. Totally name it Ron.

Too bad not a V6.

I like it. Especially with the black luggage rack. It'd be sweet if it was an AllTrac model.

Gerbs 12-27-2019 12:21 AM

Is it actually $300/yr for insurance?

68style 12-27-2019 12:26 AM

I have 2 cars with collector plates. It’s more like $500 when you do collision and comp... but don’t forget you also have to have a regular vehicle insured as well...

If you're brave enough to do 200k 3rd party liability and no other coverage. With max discount its just at $200/yr.

lol, if I had to guess its probably a traffic car. Besides tears of people losing their license for 3 months, I bet the back hasn't seen much action.

nsx042003 12-27-2019 09:53 AM

People need to understand cruisers spend shit tons of time idling, the relatively low mileage number should be taken with a grain of salt. I think engine hours is more accurate, i think they have these metrics in american cars in dash

donjalapeno 12-27-2019 10:55 AM

The only time I've seen a cruiser with the engine off is when it's parked off duty at the station. They literally never turn them off while on duty. I also have a few cop friends that have confirmed this.

trollface 12-27-2019 01:08 PM

That's because they have to keep all the radios/laptops/gps/ running. Turning the car off would nuke the battery.

ssjGoku69 12-27-2019 04:12 PM

Looking at that Camry, I completely forgot that 90's cars had a non-retractable seat belt for the rear-middle seat. So messy....

Would it be smart to get a collectors car as a cheap winter beater/grocery getter then?

As long as you don't drive it to and from work. There are quite a few restrictions from what I recall.

G0rilla 12-27-2019 06:07 PM

Strictly pleasure use, groceries, going to the gym whatever. Personal use only
