I posted the Lancer in one of the WhatsApp groups I'm in and one of the guys, who I've dealt with a ton and is a stand up guy, had this to say:

Quote:

I can’t see it because she’s blocked me

No I gave her a grand deposit and she totally ducked me over and blocked me

Like 6 months ago

Do not mess with that crack head bitch

Its not just that I went over to the island to get it and she led me on a wild goose chase for a whole day

She’s fucked in the head

In a major way

Who gives a $1000 deposit on a $4500 car sight unseen to some stranger? Hopefully he learned a valuable lesson about buying used cars

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/...-s5/1480369465 - Does anyone know whats up with this one? Seems like a good deal to me but its been on sale for a while

fliptuner 02-16-2020 05:32 PM

Yup. Bad decision on his part but doesn't change the fact that the seller is a douchebag and would waste a guy's time, taking the ferry over to check the car out.

I'd go over it pretty thoroughly.

- 87 S5? (Looks like a T2 swapped S4 with S5 tails).
- are the tranny and diff still stock, NA or T2 (big difference)
- OMP functioning/delete? Premixing?
- do a compression test
- check the wiper switch functions
- hard test drive and see how it hot starts
- 2x4 and bungee cord holding the battery in place, needs alt, rad, pw motor/switch, seat condition

If the drivetrain checks out, it could be a fun driver but expect to put some money into it.

Didn't want to start a new thread, but has anyone dealt with Car Match Auto Group? I'm specifically looking at an M4.

NOT a good buy so skip this post if one is a thread-purist....

I'm on the hunt for a vert, I sold my Miata in the summer and really miss having a convertible. I'm looking for something preferably manual (330ci, mk1 TT MB whatever, maybe a 350z) something reasonably interesting and Europeanly unreliable. Perusing CL this weekend and this abomination assaulted my eyeballs, so hilariously awful. Those wheels make it look like a donk, and the "S Line" stitching on the seats (up-badging the seats, really?), and those calipers. No pics of the motor or suspension or anything that might actually affect performance, I can only imagine that the "long build sheet" consists entirely of questionable aesthetic modifications.

Enjoy.

Like the TT but yah .. If the Audi TT is in your list, did you see this one? 2002, 85K kms, asking price is $12,900, brought up from Arizona, well maintained, seems unmolested.

I love MK1 coupe TT's, but the verts are ugly. 350's you wouldn't think could look worse than the coupes but they do. Can't really get a manual MB unless it's a very rare car. 330ci in model run out 6 spd "ZHP" (m-sport) spec would be great if you can find a good deal. Also a clean 2.8 Z3 or a m roadster if you can afford it are tons of fun to drive. You feel like you're sitting on the rear wheels.

I'd personally look for a 2003/2004 non S boxster. Quicker than the first gen S cars and (should) be cheaper. As a former 996 vert owner, the boxster is a more fun and engaging drivers car, w that sweet M96 right behind your ears.

I looked at this specific car 3 years ago when the PO sold it for 12k. Tell this clown he's 6k too high and you'll take it away for what he paid. :rukidding:

Nice try ... but a bit overboard. An attempt at a Golf R wagon ... bit of a unique thing, certainly gives you ideas as to how you can jazz up the Golf 1.8T 4motion wagon but not to this level though! I haven't even bothered to do the math on it ... feels like a terrible price.

Every now and then mk1 TT's pop up for like $4K to $5K. I'm OK with the likely requirement that there will be some wrenching required on the low $ examples.

That's a good point on the Boxster, it would be a nice complement to my 996 C4S. Every now and then a deal on a 330ci pops up but often the ZHP's are priced not much below a cheap M3 vert. I keep my eye on the Z3/Z4 market too.

the clock is ticking on the cheap vert time of year though.

I love it. This person leases a car, ruins it and then tries to cash out and have someone pay for the part's he ruined the car with.
