Pretty harsh - this is Johnny from RPI. It’s partially a rolling advertisement for them. 6k is pretty cheap for the amount of parts and custom work that’s gone into this car. Nobody would be complaining if it was a straight lease take over.
There are several ex rpi shop cars around - I love that they do up wagons. The last allroad was outstanding, and still rolling around north van I think.
I’d me tempted to grab this for my shop and wrap/brand it- the golf r wagon looks amazing.

Yeah, maybe it was a bit harsh, and you're right they put more than 6k in parts into it. However, you can't tell me that doesn't look like it would shake every filling out of your teeth.
Small overlap front: driver-side - Poor
Moderate overlap front - Good
Side - Good
Roof Strength - Acceptable
Head restraints & seats - Good
Child Seat LATCH ease of use - Marginal
Most cars that are a bit older performed poorly on the small overlap, they basically test just outside the frame, for most cars it's just a small piece of the bumper then wheel so it's understandable while it performed poorly.

How so? Did you mean all mods aside, if car had been stock? I see 2019 VW Golf 4motion wagons listed for $22K at dealer. Johnny is asking $27K just for the lease portion alone? (Plus $6000 for the goodies on top).
And if you get a chance, let Johnny know that Golf R wagon project is one drive into Vancouver away from getting VI'd and a forced return to stock. Really not sustainable, functional, or driveable in its present state.

I'm saying that straight lease take overs are common listed transactions, not that it was a good deal for a cash buyer. So yes, you're right - posting up any straight lease takeover in this thread is pretty pointless.
In my particular case, if I was going to go lease up a golf wagon for my shop, then I was going to throw 10k+ worth of mods at it, to make it a rolling billboard for me, I might do it. I know the last time they did this, the allroad went on to be a awesome looking shop car for a local bicycle company.
I was simply trying to point out that this particular car was built to advertise for a shop, therefore the mods done to it absolutely make sense from a business standpoint.
LOL - i just scrolled back to see who posted it in the first place. If it's not a good buy, why did you post it up?
I used to be a purist on this thread but lost on the debate. Most people seems to think that we cannot have a pure good buy thread and another for interesing finds, unicorns, funny posts, etc.
So that Golf R wagon was an interesting find. Don't get me wrong, I liked a lot of the stuff that RPI did to it but just not practical slammed with camber and wheels so tucked in. Love the quad exhaust & the APR & DSG tune.
