OH you guys are right, it was the RSX Type S that didn't have one iirc

vitaminG 02-24-2020 05:58 PM

It wouldn't really make sense to have a separate non lsd version of the same transaxle in the si

The ILX, which is based on the Si, doesn't have an LSD.

Let's go two-gens back to the EL :drunk:

ILX isn't entirely based on the Si tho, there is a K24 model, but there are R18 and R20 models as well. R18 being non si civic, not sure where the R20 comes from.

The first incarnation of the Acura ILX is an absolute fucking embarrassment, cause the R20 motor only produces 155hp and here's the kicker....it needs premium fuel :rukidding:

not sure if VI proof, but if you do get a VI, at least everyone is looking and probably think cops want a free hot dog.

^ I noticed that dealers do that sometimes. They just take an old post and redo it with a new listing ... not sure why and what the advantage of that is? Do they pay CL by number of posts?

What about those says 'Good Buy' to you?

I liked the 300zx back in the day, but these two look like garbage. What am I missing?

whitev70r 02-27-2020 07:24 PM

We had a discussion a few pages ago whether this thread should stay primarily a 'good buy' and people chimed in saying they wanted everything (interesting finds, unicorns, pet favourites, ridiculous wiener cars, etc.) here. This is what you get, a whole mish mash of everything. Don't shoot the messenger, I was one of the few purist who wanted to keep this mainly a 'good buy' thread.

Have you ever posted a good buy in here?

snowfarmer 02-27-2020 08:26 PM

different strokes for different folks. GS8 rarely sees a cheap Buick he doesn't like, anytime Teg posts it's going to be a Honda something or other, I shower the thread with unreliable eurotrash.

I sometimes weigh in with an opinion if I don't think something is a deal. Dbone, if there's one thing I've learned (the hard way) it's that being really direct is way more likely to be taken as rude or overly aggressive online than it is when speaking in person.

BIC_BAWS 02-27-2020 09:16 PM

Speaking of unreliable euro (debatable) trash:

2008 BMW E90 M3 - M/T - 94,000km - Rod Bearings Completed - $31K

Cool buy incoming... a sweet 280hp BMW E46 wagon (xi) powered by a S52B32

E4/4 Alpina B3 3.3 (E46 Wagon) - 112K km - $23.3K

IDK anything about the next one, but it looks like a fake baller family hauler:

Yes but, E36 M3 motor.

There's actually a very clean S54 (E46 M3) swapped, Imola Red, slicktop E46 ZHP sedan for sale in the states. Going for about 35-45K USD afaik. Has MTexture too!

It's a fair point. I don't think I have (honestly can't remember) but I have bought two cars from this thread. I really do appreciate people posting on these here, and I do enjoy the interesting ones too.

The thing is, I'd hate for some kid to come along and think those would be a good way to spend 3k.
But like I said, maybe I'm just missing why that was a good buy. I'm here to learn damn it! :)

Some of you guys take this thread title way too seriously.

westopher 02-28-2020 08:05 AM

That m3 sedan build is a terrible price for what will likely be a terrible car built by a terrible company.
Alpina touring looks awesome but I bet its a mess or I think asking price would be higher.
