^ I take it to mean they'd rather not scrap it but if people are just going to give them stupid lowballs they'll put it towards an electric. |
It looks like a tidy car for 7k. Be prepared to get raped if anything goes wrong. https://images.craigslist.org/00i0i_...6X_600x450.jpg https://vancouver.craigslist.org/pml...098562560.html |

Having owned an Alfa once (78 Spider) parts are a bit hard to come by, especially given the circumstances of COVID-19 these days. There aren't any Canadian distributors of Alfa Romeo parts, but there are a handful based out of the US. Otherwise, for these models, you would need to get your parts from Europe (not exclusive to Italy.) People often think that Alfa Romeos are bizarre or complicated to work on - this is not true. They're no different than say your average BMW, VW, Audi, Toyota, Honda etc. They have their weird/odd quirks (because Italian) but that's about it. Are they reliable? For this generation, for an Alfa, yes (lol.) Otherwise, a real pleasure to drive (when it works lol) and to own (subjective.) I have an affinity for Italian nonsense, but this one here is great for people who just enjoy being punished by their spouse (Mr. HappySlip comes to mind.) |

I don't think he likes anything but being punished by his wife lol |
Speaking of scrap value, I have a POS 92 Cavalier with steel wheels and was wondering how much Schinzter Steel would pay right now. After removing the cat and battery, total pay out would be about $90.00 Scrap it program is $6k towards new electric and $3k towards a used one. It must be plated for 6 months. |

Perhaps I should've mentioned it was BC Scrap It, not some junkyard part out scrap evaluation. I guess people looking at this kind of car probably aren't cross shopping a new EV. I'll edit the ad later today. If anyone is interested feel free to dm |

Plating it for 6 months with minimal coverage couldn't possibly cost more than $1k for a typical normal driver. (I'd wager it's quite a bit less, actually.) So if you have plans to pick up an EV or even just a PHEV, that would totally be worth it. Quote:

A few calls to various dealers on the island and I found scrap it tickets for a new Leaf. |
on the assumption there will even be EV credits in the coming months that's not re-directed to paying out millions on EI...at least the air feels cleaner now :alone: it took some time to come around on changing my mindset about car ownership, but it'll look very differently for at least the rest of the year glad i rid the 3rd vehicle days before pandemic and the 2nd vehicle is likely going back on storage |
^ Yup, i'm so glad I sold the Mustang a few months ago... |
