GT cars weren't that common. At that time, none were offered with AWD either!
The SVX was a conglomeration of cool ideas, all crammed into one car.
-flat 6 engine
-AWD
-weird glass (as mentioned above)
-cool styling
-pop-up headlamps
-auto seatbelts

vitaminG 04-05-2020 08:47 AM

I remember back in the day someone was selling one with a manual swap. It may have even been posted on revscene

twitchyzero 04-05-2020 10:49 AM

was considering the clean high milage one but with rusted exhaust posted few pages back for cheap to beat around in the winter but decided against it as i wanted something also good for car camping

the italian styling + flat 6 is intriuging but lets be real why put money or time to trans swapping something only worth few thousand that'll never attain supra/rx7 value

i dont believe they had popups, but i like 80s/90s example with projector headlamps

you're probably thinking of the other japanese bubble economy awd GT

If the SVX came with a 5-speed from factory, can pretty much guarantee it would be a lot more sought after than it is. Would’ve been such a cool car.

twitchyzero 04-05-2020 11:54 PM

the price was a killer...it was equivalent to 50-60k today when they were making budget stuff like Loyale

mt or at i dont think it would've mattered-- subaru craze didn't catch on yet pre-outback/wrx..only really known for the brat in those days?

As a previous Insight owner, i can tell you it is not $350 to repair an inverter . i recall it runs on limp mode as well

Inverters don't usually fail either. I'd be wary that the thing actually needs a new battery.

2006 manual in blue is pretty sweet though.

Just k-swap it!

The Corolla owner needs to downsize cause kids are out of the house.

What does he think is a normal sized car? A Mirage? Fuck I drive two giant ass yachts.

Jmac 04-07-2020 07:16 PM

Saw the seller used the fully loaded term, decided to look it up. Toyota offered 20 different optional packages for the 5-speed Corolla S that model year! Plus a bunch of a la carte options. Insane

twitchyzero 04-07-2020 08:50 PM

maybe it's not his only car or always wanted a boxster/miata type

tegra7 04-08-2020 12:39 PM

RE: Corolla

Is that a towel they're using as a seat cover? If so, ghettooooo.
If not, thats one weird looking seat cover.

It's possible that Corolla owner has more than one car, and no longer needs it anymore because his kids were evicted because not Asian.

Depends on title, condition, records, trim, extras, etc.

Ask, sure, but that's a 2000 dollar car TOPS. 1500 really.

16 year old Hyundai.

2015 Fiesta ST with only 65,000kms on it for $10,500 at a dealer? Seems like a lot of car for the $... comparable ones on CL are higher mileage or much higher price
