Basically, what happens is by the time it changes hands a bunch of times, the less chances they did regular maintenance on them. I've sold a bunch of tranny's for first gens and maybe only a couple for second gens. This one would have the 4spd (05/06 are 5spd) behind a K24. Since the original owner is selling it, you should be able to get a good idea if it's been taken care of or not.

the Camry listing says "garage kept." It is in fact SO garage kept that the owner refuses to even take it out of the garage to photograph it for the ad....
And the maxima owner has the same affliction.
If I was a flipper, this is exactly the sort of shit I would look for.

That Maxima has a stupid low amount of miles on it for being that old. Back in the day, I was looking into this gen Maxima's as it was the generation when they still made em to last and not just fast (VQ im lookin at you)

This car seems like a really well priced car in comparison to other listings, and it looks pretty damn mint for its age. No obvious curbage on wheels either! https://vancouver.craigslist.org/bnc...110891275.html
2009 Lexus IS250 - $8300 (Burnaby)
Lexus IS250
Second owner since 2017, not winter driven
No accidents
6sp Automatic
HID Adaptive headlights (Turn left/right following the steering wheel)
Keyless entry
Sunroof
Power/Heated seats
Premium Lexus Sound System 12 Speakers
Local car
Car is fully stock and serviced.
All the questions over the phone, please.
No lowballers, only serious buyers, test drives only with cash in hand.

The owner has added more pics in the last 2 hours including interior and engine bay shots but when it was first posted up on here it had 2 pics of the drivers side of the car and a picture of the inside of the trunk.

he told me it was 1k away from being worth 15k. What a joke.
To be fair, it looks like it's been cleaned up. I assume a new owner. There could be decent money in the part out at this point if the S52 proves out good numbers.
I'd pay 2k - (but i won't)

VQs have historically been known to be very good engines, often winning Ward's Best Engine lists each year. Maybe that's changed with the newer ones.

They’re good except for emissions controls equipment problems, lots of our fleet had major issues / costly repairs for that stuff earlier than one might expect.
Problem with Maxima and Altima is they turned into Japanese Buicks at some point... big, heavy, nose heavy especially... the more recent gen of Altima in particular was downright dangerous on hard cornering, I never clenched my ass in any other car doing “spirited” highway driving, but the way the front refused to bite and the rear wandered on the Altimas was particularly unnerving.

Is O2/cat related?

No lowballers, only serious buyers, test drives only with cash in hand. | The 4GR-FSE in these are notorious for bad carbon buildup. None of them are a good buy if you factor that in. The 2G/3G IS250s were the only Toyota cars in North America that had this motor.

If this checks out, seems like a pretty good value. 2011 Audi S4, 130K kms, supercharged V6, really nice color too, $15K https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds...110300007.html
ALL NEW BRAKE PADS / ROTORS / TIRES / BATTERY done a few months ago - all OEM parts
All maintenance done on time and by dealer. Can be very quick when needed yet good on gas. Never given me problems. Always babied and kept undercover. Need to switch to a bigger vehicle so need it gone soon. |

So technically, it's kinda overpriced.
If it were stick, then yeah...it would easily be worth it's price
