All 911s come with non ceramic brakes (red caliper) as standard option. The GT and Turbo series have 6 pot front brakes, regular 911s have 4 pot. (all red calipers)
PCCB (yellow calipers) is always an option on these cars (costs ~$8000? )

Sorry, I was incorrect.
This car has been for sale since August.

Good to know on the brakes. Thanks.

I'm not trying to pick a fight but your friend had Toyo 888's on the CP-035's when it was parked the first time.
Rear of the car is gutted and has a roll bar.
And the first time it was parked, it had vinyl numbers on the front windshield and rear passenger side window which to me is the tell tail signs that the car has seen some track time at MRP.

would you be comfortable parking your manual transmission vehicle on that steep ass driveway long term? I sure as hell wouldnt.

I remember the e60 m5 have rod bearing issues as well. A really labour expensive preventative job, and really really expensive when it goes out (completel rebuild).

2004 Porsche 911 GT3

I know the dealership doesn't have the best reputation but this car has been for sale for a while now.

I think you are mistaken - Blue Star is a pretty reputable. Specialty car and heading into winter doesn't surprise me that it's still around. Not to mention the 996 GT3 is a lot of car, but it's also a pretty niche product. If you want a track car, it's a lot of money, and if you want a street car, a 997 non-GT3 is likely a better option.

A lot has to do with the Porsche being a 996 one of the least desirable iterations because of the headlights. Lot's of Porsche aficionado's won't touch the 996 hence them being cheaper than say their 964,993,997 counterparts!

If mileage is in KM, it would be worth checking out.

From a wholesale perspective, which is how I know him, anything he's selling usually has service history, 2 keys, all the books and no stories. As always though, do you research via CarProof and ask questions.

i think he might be referring to this:

Car company sues Bacon brothers over armoured vehicles

but that had to do with the financial/leasing aspect, not with the quality of the cars they sell. i was unable to find any more recent news articles about the outcome of the lawsuit. and as far as i know four star is no longer in business, or at least not under that company name.

having said all this, i also have bought from them before, but you still need to get the car checked.

So they were more than happy to take gangbanger cash but were surprised when some sleezeballs fucked them over? Really?

It's not my car but I don't recall there ever being vinyl numbers. Not sure if you're completely remembering correctly but as I said I've been told it hasn't been tracked. Also it's the powersteering fluid that is leaking...

I want this very badly

1995 Chevrolet Impala SS

But am in the same position as Westopher

I average around 18L/100km mixed, 22L/100km city stop and go traffic. oil change is $250~$350, everything else on maintenance is around $300-$500. repair will usually be around $1000 mark. I have comprehensive warranty $4,500 for 5 years, on my way to get the money back...

BUT, I forget all of above when I WOT the V10 on open traffic :fuckyea:

Always for some reason when seeing cars that are capable of going 0-60 easily under 5 seconds.. it looks blurry under WOT.

Sounds like crazy talk but I'm concerned DJ Larkin might not like me very much if she found out I'm using twice as much gas as my current car!

:okay:

Aren't the Impala SS prone to transmission failure at 160k? This is becoming the "good deal if you are a mechanic" thread...

WHAT.

*heavy breathing* Westopher.......... !!!!

I emailed him and this is what he's told me for those interested:

Hello Guys,

My inbox is going berserk!!

Please understand, this is a project car!!

Known issues:
-CIS needs cleaning and refurbishment. ( you know how that can be a long and painful process)
-number one spark plug turns about 1/2 of a turn then gets really hard. We didn't force it. Will have to be rethreaded, possibly heli-coiled?
-the wind caught the driver's door as i was opening it. The door stop strap broke. The door is damaged. will need to be repaired, reskinned, or replaced.
-two very slight indentations on the engine cover. Someone pushed down too hard closing the lid. Should be an easy fix by a paintless dent repair guy.
-previous owner installed black door edge guars. THey rubbed through the pain a little bit. A couple of these wear spots have a bit of surface rust. Im guessing 1/8" x 1/4" maybe.
-tires are very old
-aftermarket (crappy) shift knob is loose.
- if i remember the passenger window switch on the driver's door is not functioning.
- the 915 trans is a typical 100.000 mile 915 trans. 2nd gear syncos are a little weak. Good shifting technique is rewarded.
- some pitting of windshield, but no cracks
- a bit of curb rash on one of the wheels
- slight warping of the leather dash. Not too bad. Some leather softener might help it relax back into shape
- front lip spoiler has a tear in it.
- screw holes stripped out when i was removing rear license plate bracket.

the Good
-very, very straight body other than the above mentioned door and decklid. White and black is a nice colour combo.
- no rust that i can see, other than the tiny spots mentioned above. Car was from AZ. I have had it in a climate controlled indoor storage spot on the prairies since.
-full leather interior in pretty good condition. It has a sports seat on the driver's side. It has been dyed black. Not a perfect dye- job, but not too bad
I have the original drivers seat back in SK that is in good condition. ( i also have the other un dyed sport seat somewhere)
-16x7 and 16x9 Fuchs. Yes, rare nine inch Turbo rears. A bit of curb rash on one of the rears. You probably know what a set of those are worth.
-Has a new set of euro H-4 headlights. Should have the body coloured rings though to look its best.

Im probably forgetting a few things.... but those are the basics.

No. They're slightly different.. I dont know the model code, but i believe they were only ever made for the JDM NA1 NSX-R. If the ad is correct, those wheels alone should easily fetch ~1.3k in the canadian market
