Bmw v8s :heckno: I've learnt my lesson. I've always wondered why ppl don't fix cracked glass before selling their car it's a huge turn off for me

westopher 06-15-2020 11:55 AM

Because they have ran out of money from the last repairs and they are sick of that shit.

Is that why BMW owners drive like assholes?

westopher 06-15-2020 12:21 PM

It’s Vancouver, everyone drives like an asshole.
People either drive like they think they are about to die or they are ready to die.

twitchyzero 06-15-2020 02:06 PM

havent experienced bmws driving like dbags any more than other makes
if anything it's usually those lifted domestic bros coal-rolling

SpeedStars 06-15-2020 03:29 PM

I love it when I'm at a stop light when Kyle in his 2003 Duramax Silverado with monster energy stickers rolls up and decides he wants to teach em ricers a lesson by sending diesel smoke right into my window then proceeding to speed home to bang his cousin

Some M2s are going for like $40k...

twitchyzero 06-16-2020 09:45 AM

aside from a longer wait or adm

any reasons to buy a M performance of the 2nd rung trim over the full M product when new?

i imagine the price delta must be pretty darn close

That's how I ended up in an M3. A M340i all said and done was closing on 70k and a M3 starts at ~72k?

Then you buy the M3 all said and done and it's 90k

But once you look at the M3 you can't go back anymore.

I looked into this, the M235i, 228i, 230i, M240i, when I was looking for my next car. From my research, it looks like the M235i did not come with the LSD from factory - it was a dealer installed option or BMW can sell a M Performance upgrade part for it.

I confirmed this with a tech at The BMW Store. Unless dealer installed/owner modded, the non-M always come with e-diff.

However, this PDF from a US M235i, suggests that MY 16+ models may all have it included.

My brother has one and he loves it. I don't think there are a lot of modern cars that are comparable for the price.

320icar 06-16-2020 02:44 PM

I’ve been on track passenger in an m235i (or maybe m240i) and that shit was amazing. The grip on turn in was very impressive, really showed how not a sports car my RS is. Not that mine was much slower, but you could tell with the same driver the bmw would be a good 2-3 seconds a lap faster

nsx042003 06-16-2020 02:49 PM

^Strange, the RS should be very capable itself. maybe tires?

Never said the RS was slow, but it’s an awd car with a higher CoG and with narrower tires with worse alignment. The RS can get traction anywhere and go WOT out of any turn, but the m235i/m240i or whatever has a more responsive chassis and can handle high speed sweeping corners with more grace

Edit: RS on factory 235/35r19 Michelin Pilot supersports, the bmw on the stock continental equivalent of the PSS

Its the limited M performance track edition that came with the real mechanical LSD. limited to 50 units in Canada.

You can tell its the real deal because of sunroof delete and manual seats.
