It was pretty much as advertised. It drives really nice for its age but it does need some work, which is expected. I was looking for a little project car with a bunch of minor issues to keep me busy when I'm bored. I definitely found what I was looking for. I was either going to get an is300 or gs400. Finding a gs430 was just a bonus.

Looks pretty clean. Colour is definitely an acquired flavour though.

Anyone know of a good toyota/lexus mechanic? Seems like could be a $4-5k problem on top to fix the transmission, abs light, and solar sensor?

That pearl yellow is not a bad color... If they could be bothered take it outside for some better lighting where it doesn't look poo brown

What a weird garage too, El Camino, old cutlass, another Oldsmobile a del sol and an 80s Camaro.

I don't think it's the traditional pearl yellow. I think it's the beige.
Then again I'm half colour blind so maybe it's just me

Don't forget the '95 Altima in the back.

I see 2 holes in the front bumper which is right. It's the chipping paint that looks like extra holes.
I see rust in the passenger side with the door open.
Also looks like the wiring from the deck is showing.
Interior looks pretty clean.
The outside def looks like a car that was driven 300K km's.
Wonder if the passenger door is an easy fix? Mine is starting to have that issue but I fixed it by gutting the door. #becauseracecar

In normal lighting, I think the pear yellow should look more or less like this:

http://classicvehicleslist.com/pics/...w-yellow-2.JPG

It isn't as sharp as the Miata or Porsche's speed yellow, but it doesn't look a$$ ugly like the CL ad pictures suggest at all.

tofu1413 08-28-2020 11:07 AM

Faded Dakar yellow pearl

welfare 08-28-2020 11:09 AM

Ok, I thought it was like this beige:
https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content...jye-scaled.jpg

Like I said though, my colour vision isn't great so I'll shut up now lol
Edit: yea definitely looks much more like the yellow pearl

Traum 08-28-2020 11:15 AM

^^ I can't claim to know exactly how the pearl yellow would look like on an old 300ZX, but wouldn't this colour you posted be just regular pearl or cream white?

Believe or not, that Beige color you see is Glacier White Pearlglow.
I'm not a huge fan of the pearl yellow as it's hard to match and every Z I see with it looks like it is sun faded.

Yea I guess it would have just said white in the ad since it's obviously closer to white than yellow.
Too bad. I think the beige/cream is much nicer than the yellow pearl

I am really having a hard time saying no to this one. There are few cars that I absolutely love, and the 4th gen accord is one of them. I have no room and have 4 projects going on. Someone please scoop this up. BibleThump

COUPE! EX-R, pre-facelift (way nicer looking than 92-93 IMO), low KM, owned by a 103 year old lady... and the perfect 90's color combo.

Traum 08-28-2020 12:19 PM

Whoa damn~ I have fond memories of this generation of Accord since a highschool buddy of mine had one (albeit a 4-door version), and we did a lot of shenanigans in it. I especially remember how VTEC came on (yes, with the auto tranny no less), and the car sounded and felt awesome even though it was probably still dead slow even by the 90's standards LOL~

Ai... too many awesome cars, too little time and parking spaces for them...

Nvm. I think 94 was the first year accord with VTEC.
You may be talking about the IAB butterfly valves which open at 4600 rpm which gave the motor a different sound.

Holy Eff, that Miata is a good deal! That won't be on the market long, I've been keeping an eye on the Miata market since I sold mine last summer and it's ridiculous what people are asking for their rusty NA Miata with 300,000 km.

I have no idea if this is a good deal but based on the price, I bet it's not. I usually ignore all listings with $0 or $1 as the price as it seems like the people who do that usually want some ridiculous amount for their car. So maybe not a good deal but it's a rare and totally hilarious little car.

A friend talked to the Miata guy. Needs brakes, tires, water pump/timing belt. How hard/expensive is it to do that on a Miata? I am interested in it... but no experience with Miata ownership costs.
