Cheap to buy, and then take your firstborn after the first 10,000km type deal? I just finished working on a friend's Z4 and I wanted to die looking at the cost of parts alone.

I think you need to use basic common sense when buying a higher mileage 10-20 year old German performance vehicle.

it could be a good buy for the right person since they're rare and don't often come up for sale.

If you wanted to die looking at Z4 parts, then you have absolutely no business whatsoever owning an M car - the parts are generally 2-3x the price for the things that are unique.

E39 M5 was my don't drive your hero car.

Driven two extensively - one super low km creampuff and the other a high miles ragged example. Felt both were underwhelming in stock form - just felt heavy and uninspiring. Sure are pretty to look at though.

Got it, Toyota Camry it is.

tofu1413 10-23-2020 07:48 AM

^ current camry V6 probably faster than a used E39 M5.

Oh wait, maybe I should say it is a shitty deal and the seller will lower the price.

All that work and throw an Escalade automatic in it? Dafuq

JDMDreams 10-24-2020 08:35 AM

It does sound interesting but I see an easy few more thousand to get it drivable, as everything is pretty much custom. No cluster, no ac and still a rear main seal drip

91 turbo mr2 - $6,000 (Richmond)

2007 Lexus LS 460 - $14,750

https://images.craigslist.org/00X0X_...K_1200x900.jpg

2nd owner and well maintained, all records with Regency Lexus.
Only 112,584 km's
4.6 litre V8 380hp with 8 speed auto trans w/ optional manual shift control. Fun to drive.
Good rubber (new tires 2018).
Please provide your phone number in your inquiry and I'll call you back to arrange viewing.

Looks like the asking is dropped to 13,500 now. Wish I had a reason to pick an LS up, big fan of this body style

Could be a fake ad. The image is scaled in a weird way, as is often with fake ads. Also there are no pictures of the plate itself.

SpeedStars 10-25-2020 12:07 PM

On the topic of LS460s, wasn't it posted here that the earlier models 05-08(?) would need control arm replacements and be big $$$$ to do so? There were some king george specials on clist and fb going for sub 10k so could be legit

There two things on that pic that's promising. Pumpkins on the door step means the timing seems recent, and the car behind has a BC plate.

JDMDreams 10-25-2020 12:38 PM

I recall there's an issue with the brake master cylinder too that is $$ and air suspension if it has it. But it doesn't seem like a lwb phew so no reason for me to get it and the tan interior looks kinda beat. I had dark blue on tan car before and it was a bitch to keep clean and scratches and swirls for days
