Because I'm not going to keep the car forever.
If I sell the car to a dealer or private, it's going to be worth $5K-$10K less because of the claim. I agree the car is safe to drive. But the claim totally wasn't factored into the cost of the car.

The '60-'64 Galaxie is one of the few Fords I can confess to appreciating as they are decent cars, though they don't hold a candle to the '61-'64 Impala.

Fully loaded w/ balance of extended warranty and super low clicks, something ridiculous like 30 something K. Pretty much like the white one listed on here for sale but with lower clicks and cheaper.

That bubble in the rear quarter on the '71 above, though, is a definite rust problem. I'll put $50 down that says the quarter is rotton to 6" above the running board, and the driver's side heater channel needs to be replaced.
...sometimes knowing a car so well takes the fun out of CL :P
