Good God, how many of you guys look at your front bumper and headlights while you drive, or sit in front of you cars while you have dinner? |

This person has already performed the best mod one can do to improve a Mazda RX8.....remove the engine. $1000 for the whole thing including the blown engine. Rotary fans are probably going to flame me to hell for this! Could be a decent base for a fun project. $2500 for an LS swap kit and build up a budget LS engine. https://oppositelock.kinja.com/speed...und-1125469009 2004 Mazda Rx8 Pulled Engine - $1,000 (New Westminster) https://vancouver.craigslist.org/bnc...220710206.html https://images.craigslist.org/00M0M_...t2_600x450.jpg 2004 Rx8 6spd manual, no engine, catalytic converter, radiator and coolant resevoir. Looking to sell entire car. I'd consider a trade for a snowmobile in some capacity. The good -120k ish kms, clean title non rebuild or salvage. -6 spd manual -Cruise control and volume control on steering wheel. -Trans and clutch are in good condition -Spare full size tire/rim -No rust, been garage kept while I've had her The bad -No engine, Apex seals went and I don't have the money or time to fix her up, you're welcome to the parts -Small amount of mold on seatbelts -Paint cracking on very front of bumper -Driver side sun shade is falling apart |
Since the RX8 is so much more work to rebuild than an RX7 it seems like there's lots of swap kits out there for whatever brand or budget you prefer. I always liked the idea of a 1UZ in one. Quote:

That said I fucking love the 996 front end, rear end, and side profile. The only thing that really sucks is the centre dash. |
rx8 seems like a practical compromise if you can't have a 2nd car not convinced it's worth swapping a piston motor in though |
^^ I looked into it briefly a few years ago, but it's an easy $10k build given our crap exchange rates, unless you have the skills to diy something like that |
RX8 is a good chassis for a swap. I'd probably do a K20 or Ecotec, since they're re cheap and troll-ey. Quote:

mine still looks new at 217k kms. 997 buttons peeled off 17kms from the dealership Plus they come from the era of full dial pad shitty nav screens. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...4&d=1360047365 Cheating :ilied: by showing the 996 GT3 console delete interior (easy mod for 996 owners) https://speedhunters-wp-production.s...4-1200x800.jpg |
The downers I found with the 996 interior (at least the 996.1) was: No glove box No cup holders (I've seen a 996 turbo that had one) The rubber coating they put on buttons doesn't seem to hold up. Otherwise, the lack of screens certainly makes it more timeless. |
https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van...226480697.html 2001 e46 m3 - $27,000 https://images.craigslist.org/00M0M_...2_1200x900.jpg For sale is my 2001 e46 m3. The vehicle has roughly 201,*** kms but wont go up as the car is going into storage until april at the end of the month (November). The list of work that I have done to this car is endless. I took ownership in december of 2019 and in the past year I have reciepts adding up to around 20k in just parts. This includes a full engine rebuild, over sized je pistons, main bearings and rods were replaced using wpc treated bearings. Ported heads the compression ratio was lowered to 10.5:1 the motor was built for a turbo setup. The head was completely done as well. valve springs, valve grind and almost every single accsessory was replaced around the motor as well. The car was in the shop from January 4th 2020 till may 23rd 2020. genuine 19" bbs csl wheels with 275/35r19 and 235/40r19 Potenza RE71R's purchased 3 months ago never tracked. Car has bilstein shocks with eibach lowrings springs. Vanos and the Subframe have both been addressed. New brushed aluminum upgraded radiator, timing chain all guides, p/s pump, oil pump, clutch, battery, altenator, car has 4.1 gear set diff but I have the old gear set as well. The car was in an accident a few weeks after the engine was rebuilt front end collision I have photos of the damage. While is was at the body shop I got some of the panels painted and the car got a full detail and polish. Paint is in imaculate condition. If you want more photos or want to see the car please email me. |

junkyard harlequin - cool if it was a real one (they made about 250 for north america) it would be worth some money, even if poor shape |

Also define very particular to owner's taste? The pictures look good-ish. Car doesn't look like it's been detailed in awhile. I don't have a bone in this fight because I don't have 25k to drop on a car like that, nor do I have an extra indoor parking spot. |
Hear me out: to all the Johnny Trans out there this one's for you. At face value an AP1 with 91k kms + a veilside kit for 20K sounds not too bad in the current market when ones with double the KMs are asking more and in worse cosmetic shape. Car looks fairly clean and either a repaint or oem bumpers with more track spec wheels could bring this s2000 from 2002 to 2020 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...1885040432420/ |
