It's pretty easy to realize that your e36 m3 is gonna cost you 20k, even if you buy it for 10. Better off buying the 20k one.

If you’ve got extra space and are willing to take a gamble, $2000 mazdaspeed3 could be an amazing deal if it just needs a little diagnostic

Worth looking at this auction of a near identical car if you think the pricing is crazy.

Everything on BAT is crazy. Just rich ppl buying stuff at madness prices and now every other ad on CL is (Example like this old on BAT for XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX).

BAT and Barrett Jackson literally ruined everything. I hate them.

Me as an E36 M3 owner.

I hate BAT, but it’s still a data point. People are paying that premium for cars. I don’t buy the (insert car here) bullshit that this sold for 40k on BAT so my broken shitbox with 100k more is worth as much, but these cars are a near identical match. Honestly the local car looks nicer and it’s 7-8k less.

68style 11-16-2020 10:05 AM

Local car is more original it’s the better buy of the 2 in my mind plus it’s cheaper. Especially being local (obviously).

Yah it’s $27k but you could drive this car for “free” the next 3-5 years easily with values continually increasing.

Wonder if someone will buy this car and then post it on BAT like other examples that we have seen this year.

To think, it wasn't too long ago decent Canadian Euro Spec E36's could be bought for $10K ish.

Then again I remember a time when daily driven E30 M3's could be had for $8K.

SkunkWorks 11-16-2020 10:25 AM

BAT is a data point but unless if you're willing to title the car in the US prior to auction then a Canadian car won't get near the identical US car gets on there.

In short, BAT has ruined the local market for cool cars.

Seems like a small price to pay for a 31-32% USD premium and a vastly larger market?

Only if it sells for that premium come auction day.

Risk reward.

underscore 11-16-2020 10:50 AM

People can be weird when it comes to buying cars. Through an "importer", dealer or BAT they're willing to pay far more for a car for whatever reason. Even if the one on there isn't as nice as a private sale one.

Gerbs 11-16-2020 11:01 AM

that bathtub does not look fun to drive lol

Looks to be a fake ad.

Now that you say it, that’s very obvious. Lack of sleep is getting to me

The same days people could get yaletown condos for 250k. I always say it, its not that things increase in value, your purchasing power has just tanked. Those that already have everything are the ones making money. Thank our "booming economies!"
