I remember looking at Taco ads a few years back, they were going for high-teens/low twenties for 200k km 7/8 year old examples. At that point, why not just buy a new one?? |
2011 Volkswagen Golf GTI, DSG, 202K, $6900. Anything that is obviously wrong with this (other than at a used car dealer in Langley)? Decent price if it is clean and checks out. https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds...233790077.html https://images.craigslist.org/01212_...t2_600x450.jpg |

^ the first line says B18C1..... If it wasn’t a GS-R motor it would be a B18B |
He might just be referring to the manifold, itself. In which case, I'd say call the guy and find out. I dunno, there are lots of aftermarket intakes out there. For $3500, it's not like it's a deal breaker or anything lol. |
Looks like a skunk2 manifold. |
prob okay deal to part out skeptical about the worthiness of fixing it up given the lack of photos |
There’s a black GSR in Richmond near my parents house with the chrome ninja blades on it with a orange for sale sign in the window but as far as I know it’s been sitting on the front lawn for like 5+ years so not sure what’s wrong with it... keep meaning to stop and see what the deal is. It’s been there so long I wonder if it’s on street view lol |
Last 2 GSR's on CL were rebuilds. 1 went for ~$5k, the other for 6. I guess ITR's have gone up so much, that the next best thing is climbing too. I prefer Civic/Fit > Integra/RSX, so for that DC, I'd probably search for a clean EG/EK shell and swap everything over. |
Ugh...just missed an 08, Volvo S40, T5, 6spd, AWD, with 145k. Probably would've been into it, all in, for ~$2k. Not big on Euros but should've put an offer on it, in hindsight |

As much as I like my RS, I actively avoid drives that I know there is a high chance of getting stuck in traffic etc. Would be nice to have a golf R where I wouldn’t care with the DSG |

i agree - modern dual clutch or even regular autos, worth considering. But not this trash. there was a manual c4s last week for the same money, but I don't see it now. 996 C4S - best watercooled bum. They seemed to have creeped up. When I was looking 2-3 years ago C4S was low 30's. Now they all seem to be 40k EDIT: here it is https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van...229942611.html we were just discussing though - the delta between a C4S and a turbo is shrinking. as much as I like the C4S, I'd spend 10-15k more for a turbo |
What year did the PDK take over the porsche lineup? |

I thought 2008 cars had PDK or is that Caymans. |
