quite a few issues for the price

dared3vil0 12-19-2020 05:47 PM

223k, non zo6, needs 3-5k+ of work (depending if trans slipping out of gear means time for a rebuild...) Seems like a 12k car with zero issues, maybe an 8-10k one with.

BMW wagons always have crazy high mileage on them, don’t remember the last time I saw one that had like 80k or 90k haha I guess they’re purpose built!

underscore 12-19-2020 07:31 PM

^ you rack up a lot of miles running to band practice, soccer practice, dance class, etc.

twitchyzero 12-19-2020 07:33 PM

tells me any underlying big problems likely would've already cropped up

I don’t know about finding a good example for $12K (not saying that this one is a good deal given the RMS and trans issues). I’ve been casually watching the market for a cheap C5 Corvette to be the latest victim in the long line of wildly inappropriate winter cars I’ve owned. If you find a C5 Corvette 6MT coupe with no issues for $12K, send the link my way, I would jump at it. Those things seem to be holding their value better than to sell for $12K and that is not just the ones that their owners think are collectors items because it is one of 754 examples with the very specific set of options they have on their car.

Send me those leads on a cheap 6MT C5 Vette Coupe!

dared3vil0 12-19-2020 07:50 PM

You do realize that car has 223,000km on it, right?

1998 Corvette. $11k, but an auto. 217k. Been on the market for a little while so could go down more.

whitev70r 12-19-2020 09:00 PM

Jpark ... don't look (at least it's a TFSI). It's a 2010 Audi A3, FWD, 170K kms, $6000 open to offers. If you can get this for like $5500, it would be a pretty good deal.

Someone buy that xB so i dont have to

GIZZ 12-20-2020 10:19 AM

On the vette topic,

The cheap c5's used to be mainly convertibles and almost always auto.

$12,500 is a fair price for a manual these days. I don't think you'll find a 99-00 FRC locally, and for under $20G. C5 Z06 for $25 would be a deal.

The problem with the C5, it isn't fast anymore. I seriously looked into getting a c5 Z06 for my 416" but I couldn't get past the future cost of replacing the rear end and transmission. So it's gotta be the big axle '09 z06 for me, still looking for the right car.
