I'm not saying it's a bad car but it sounds like this car may have gone through a couple of engines.

you gotta get the 2001+ qx4's and pathfinders for that 3.5L motor.
I have one right now and it is a big improvement over the 3.3 in that 99

Check the clutch pedal assembly for stress/bending and the shifter cables for slop/stretching as those are common problems you can use to knock the price down even more but are easily fixed by swapping in 4th gen parts. Also check the trunk for water by the spare tire since leaks are common (again not a big deal) and the outside door handles not going flush when released (yet another easy DIY fix to knock down the price).

The ATTS really isn't beneficial and adds more failure points, additionally the engines for the SH are only compatible with SH transmissions so if you ever have a problem with the transmission you're either spending a pile of money and waiting forever for a trans or doing a motor swap. The non-SH engine is compatible with transmissions from all the other H and F series engines (excluding the F20C from the S2000) so if you ever had a failure you can fix the car extremely cheaply. This goes for the auto Preludes as well, and since the 5g auto is all but guaranteed to fail the auto SH ones have kept the demand for an SH manual trans pretty high.

With all the time I spent researching the auto -> manual swap on le gf's Prelude I know far more about those things than I ever wanted to, IMO a manual non-SH makes a hell of a nice DD with only a couple minor issues that can be easily fixed when they pop up.

I'm curious why NA1's are still in the 40's when NA2's can be had for somewhere in the 60's? There's 2 on Prime that I'm referring to. Do people feel that the NA1 holds value better because of potential collector status? I would much rather have an NA2 due to the updates and it being more modern looking.
My 997 Turbo plans have been trumped by my obsession with the "H" so I'm moving onto an NA2.
