Just wanted to thank this thread again -- ended up purchasing this one for the GF as her first car. Second owner for over a decade took good care of it, couldn't say no !
No rust, everything works including A/C! Installed some fresh Winter tires, detailed it and caught up on maintenance. Took it up to Squamish and it did really well on the highway. Love the DC chassis, feels lighter than my EM1 even in stock form.
Congrats! Definitely a good first car for your GF.
As soon as a GSR popped up on CL last week, I had to check this thread to see if there would be RS competition lol. They seem to be going for a premium now, since ITR's are so expensive. A few clear coat issues and needs some tuning done but overall, clean, rust-free, 01.

did so so on that one. car was quite beat but drove good.
Z4 M seems to be better value than the S2 imo
I have 2 S2K and I dont disagree at all. I had a Z4M before also, and man I miss that car lol. I would never take my S2K to see a client, but I would not hesitate to take my old Z at all.
My mini "review" post on the differences a few years back and still I believe in it. Z4M = Wearing a well fitted suit, that you can do everything in and still look great while doing it. Business, fun, this car does it all. S2000= Wearing high end, comfy athletic gear, thats mainly just used for predominately one thing
Never driven a 1M Coup, but had a Z4 M coupe for a while. The bmw blows the honda out of the water in the power category obviously, 330 vs 250 or so, but I could really feel the weight of the car when cornering hard. S2000 is much more balanced when I took it out, even stock it felt amazing. The bmw has some bodyroll but not so bad that you feel like youre wobbling. The bmw also has torque throughout the powerband which is where it really has an advantage, as we all know s2000 is best kept in the higher ranges which is a little troublesome in the city (The soccer mom in the odyessy next to you will smoke you off the line). Shifting in the bmw felt kind of clunky and weak, the transmission in the s2000 felt amazing (a work of art). Clutch is much stiffer in the bmw and takes some getting use to, honda was very forgiving as it had alot of room to play (pros or cons depending on your preference).
Overall I would say depending on your lifestyle, both are amazing cars, both are rare. What I mean by lifestyle would be if you could afford to have 2 cars and have the space for it, I would choose a professional or boring daily driver (3series, accord or whatever) and have the s2000 as the weekend warrior. But if you could only choose 1, it would be the Z4 M. The Z4 M is like the more "mature" s2000, it kind of portrays a bachelor lifestyle, a little more refined and premium, but still can have fun and look sophisticated for a night out or a sunday morning run through sea to sky. An s2000 is like when you're out go-karting in your 30s with friends, and you dont care about anything but having fun
Clean title NOT REBUILT new brake pads brand new all tires 2 weeks ago ac working
Sunroof remote key has no problems drives smooth priced to sell quick
Only problem is the heat switch doesn’t work
But if you buy a $10000 350z and throw on the extra $10000 you will spend on buying the S2000 and or to fix the m3 I think it will a pretty good track monster ??? Profit

Pretty much on same boat on this.
Having driven 4 of the said cars:
The AP1 I owned: Nervous feeling, but more exciting. need to drive 7/10ths + to really enjoy the car.... quite high strung. anything below 5/10ths and the car was meh. Had the OE hard top on mine, so it was nicer to putt around in the real world. It was a lively car but I cant ever gauge what the front end was doing based on the steering feel. Fantastic interior lay out, seats and steering wheel size. typical quality of 90's honda builds.
The AP2 I demoed for two days: Basically AP1, but better sense of stability. Improved torque. A bit more comfortable to drive overall than the AP1, but lost some of the high strung personality of the previous car.
Z4M roadster demoed for a week: crappy interior materials on door card and dash. Interior didn't age well. quirky headlights. quite enjoyable to drive around 4-8/10ths. S54... is S54 - responsive motor that sounds fantastic WOT and plenty of torque across power band. Motor pairs well with a body that small. Decent brakes. Slightly bigger foot print and less sharp than the S2's but a nicer long range cruiser. Seats are not as comfy as the S2 and if you're skinny (or skinny lady friend) you may slide side to side in the seats. stiffer padding for seats. Typical rubberish feeling shifter (B&M or factory shorter throw shifter will fix that) . Felt like a less focused car than the S2, but more useable in the real world overall, especially with its gearing, slightly bigger foot print and flexible powerband.
Z4M Coupe for about an hour seat time: Pret,ty much same as Z4 M roadster but less rear 3/4 visibility regardless because of the roofline (Z4 M roadster can drop the top) borderline claustrophobic sitting inside the car. hatchback design makes the rear trunk area a bit more boomy and hear a couple of squeaks/ rattles from rear interior panel. Not much more practical than the roadster in the real world. Cool car: Modern day 240Z essentially with more weight (another car i've owned...)
I Don't think i'd own another S2 again at the current prices, but Z4 M is now in my radar for next year. I feel I can live with the BMW a bit better.
