do v6 6pd sedans even exist in canada?

!Aznboi128 12-24-2020 03:18 PM

Yea, no one really bought them new. If I recall they were special order as well. No one wanted a V6 family sedan with a 6-speed. Even though the 6-speeds came with bigger front brakes, strut bar and can accelerate to 60mph in under 6 seconds.

but no one cared

same as a top spec bmw/audi wagon, its like the dream enthuasist spec, but everyone just wanted a 3 yr old lease return sample that has depriciated 50%, no one wanted to pay them brand new lol....

It is no secret, esp to auto manufacturers, that "enthusiasts" are the loudest and cheapest whiners that almost never walk the walk after all their talk. This is why I can't blame them for not building fun cars LOL~

twitchyzero 12-25-2020 11:26 AM

the average enthusiast let's someone else eat the depreciation then asks why mustangs are becoming crossovers

Same guy is selling an 06 E46 M3 with 87,500 for $50K. If this is the same one that was being sold over the summer, it was $36K iirc

This car is was very rusty with weird bodywork. Been reposted over the years. Every time price is higher than the last.

snowfarmer 12-26-2020 01:48 PM

Alrighty, here's one that is calling out to me.

Wagon, 6MT, XWD (so the torque steer isn't quite so bonkers) Aero (turbo V6 with a ton of tuning potential) and even in a non-boring colour!

I'd sure want to see what the interior looks like, if it isn't wrecked this car ticks a lot of boxes. The hood needs some attention., I'd either try and repair it or just drive it till one turns up at a wrecker (that could take a while). It could be a great deal if one could grind the seller down a bit more but I think he knows what he's got!

Could be that the summer wheels (stock) are included with bad tires if one could interpret that ad that way.
The ones in the ad look like General Altimax on winter wheels?

Repaint it brown.

Wonder what else "Needs work" means. This is the kind of car I'd love to have kicking around as a 2nd car especially for just a few grand.

trollface 12-26-2020 05:29 PM

Can you get parts for that thing?

68style 12-26-2020 05:33 PM

There's place in Richmond imports Saab parts, I talked to him about something unrelated one day and he seemed like a really good guy... but I mean drivetrain wise it's just GM shit

‘02 WRX, super clean for ~10k. Doesn’t sound like a deal, but considering bug eye / blob eye STi’s of similar condition are going for 25k, this seems like a fantastic daily if kept stock. Doubt you’d lose any money driving for a few years. Aftermarket gauge on the steering column warrants some digging, just to make sure this didn’t used to be heavily modded, or else it’s not worth near the asking.

Not sure about the EJ20, but the larger variant EJ25 is built like a tank, with one super fatal flaw. The head gaskets. Needs to be replaced every 100k or so? Heard some turbo's also like to blow up, I had the anemic slow as molasses version so can't say for sure. I'm sure my old car is still kicking out here somewhere, was close to 300k when I sold it and it had zero signs of kicking the bucket.

trollface 12-27-2020 09:30 AM

So it's built like a tank except for the FATAL flaws?

Teriyaki 12-27-2020 09:56 AM

Ah, yea. Maybe a better term is "Built like a Deathstar, but the vulnerable vent ports only expose themselves every 100k or so" LOL

I'm sure there's plenty other Subie enthusiasts here that are much more well-versed with these engines and can chime in since they've been around for what seems like eons now.

twitchyzero 12-27-2020 10:10 AM

what blows my mind is a powertrain in production for like 25 years yet has a recent class action lawsuit for failures

https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-...n%20settlement.

you would think they'd redesign from scratch at least 10 years ago

bcrdukes 12-27-2020 10:18 AM

Considering how loyal Subaru owners are, I think they prefer to overlook it and consider it as a charming feature and part of the battle scars you earn that come along with Subaru ownership.
