Ozone machine will get any smell out of a car I'm pretty certain. Did a car that had spilled milk in the trunk, think it was rotting there in the summer sun for weeks. Thing was absolutely putrid.

Yes it is high mileage and if that concerns you please don't message me or waste my time, price reflects that..
price definitely isn't reflecting that.

didn't this car sell for 10-11? "mechanic owned" i feel like it might even have been a bicbaws candidate. Might have been a different one.

tofu1413 01-20-2021 06:14 PM

Nope. I had titanium silver.

But this is in fact my co workers old car. A BMW tech owned car too so it’s quite well sorted out.

Well driven. Well used. But rock solid.

car sold for 12k about half year ago

Drives really good for its mileage, but could use bushings all around to bring back life to the car

twitchyzero 01-20-2021 08:22 PM

how much does odometer really affect value on a 20-year old anyways if everything else checks out?

is it safe to say the ship for a 10-12k M car has probably sailed?

Due to the fact everyone thinks they are professional car investmenters these days, a lot. A 50k e46 m3 in a desirable colour combo/spec is going to be 40USD+ where a 200k car in the same spec is going to be 20ish.
The only 10-12k m car you are gonna get is a beat SMG e63 m6, a terrible e36 m3 or e36/7 m roadster, or maybe a salvage/smg e46 m3 vert.

TopsyCrett 01-21-2021 07:05 AM

Wow... what a beautiful color combo.

Looks nice now, I wonder how well it'll age.

On the other hand it's a 12 year old p-car maybe longevity is not really a realistic expectation.

$18.9k seems cheap, is that the going rate for these? Sounds like a lot of car for the money.

tofu1413 01-21-2021 07:43 AM

Macadamia metallic.

they offered it on 997 and 987 as well. very rare color and looks fantastic under the sun.

color is straight up brown on cloudy days. Cool color. very retro.

JDMDreams 01-21-2021 09:13 AM

From my research I think the Gts still has the v8 engine problems, I forgot if it was some engine coating that would wear out, only the turbos don't have it. But then you have the turbo cooling problems. And premium gas is over $1.4 again :okay:

!Aznboi128 01-21-2021 10:09 AM

^ Regular is 1.3 already lol

vitaminG 01-21-2021 10:13 AM

^ v8 cayennes had bore scoring from the cylinder liners failing. Think bmw had similar problems back in the day with nikasil or alusil or something. I do believe newer cayennes and turbos did not have the same issue

TopsyCrett 01-21-2021 11:05 AM

^ Nikasil lining that deteriorated with sulfer content levels in shitty gas at the time. Alusil was the solution.

Hard top worth half the asking price

If it drives decent, that's a deal

EDIT: Tried for it but it sold quick

Good call, didn't notice that. In that case I would judge the owner more than the vehicle, if they cheap out on tires what else would they have cheaped out on with the car?

Not judging you for running cheap tires tho lol.

snowfarmer 01-21-2021 12:10 PM

Agreed, reasonable chance there is a pending repair that the owner can't afford.

Instead of a questionable GTS, if one wants to scratch that unreliable German SUV itch, here's an '08 (957) Turbo that's had one of the key failure points resolved. The coolant pipes have been done and the ad suggests it may have been properly serviced.

I don't buy cars if it's got junk tires. If the owner is that cheap, so cheap they buy the cheapest of the cheapest tires that I can't pronounce, that car prob has not seen an ounce of maintenance or used dollar store oil all it's life.

tofu1413 01-21-2021 06:35 PM

With that many cars on the yard. Makes me wonder if he’s a curber.
