didn't this car sell for 10-11? "mechanic owned" i feel like it might even have been a bicbaws candidate. Might have been a different one.

tercel with ABS, sweet
might actually be fun at autocross (jdm one spins up to 8k LUL)

JDMDreams 01-21-2021 10:48 PM

Are 997 good cars to buy and drive a few years without losing your ass kinda cars? Or will the maintenance or catastrophic failure kill you like BMWs? Slightly richer versions of bmw owners. :considered:

Ah the 10-11 one. I remember it, I was going to go check it out, but it sold before I could get out there.

It's such a shame that something so many people enjoyed ended for unrelated reasons.

Money rules the world. If it's not profitable, it's gone.

PCA did one autox day at Tradex in the fall. A second day was scheduled (I had a spot) but the tighter health orders caused cancellation.

The plan is to run at least that cancelled event as soon as health and weather improve.

I'm really looking forward to it, and will report on how well auto-x works out at tradex. I assume the other event organizers are looking at it too.

You don't know what you got til it's gone...parking lot.

these are gettin' rich real quick. once BMW drops the bomb with an all electric M5, these will bump even more in value.

Cant blame people. These cars are iconic. They basically created a whole new segment for car design.

twitchyzero 01-22-2021 09:50 AM

i remember considering toyota86's 200k example few years ago when he wanted 18k
they've aged so well, i wonder if e92/90 is next to climb

PLUJ 01-22-2021 10:33 AM

I don't think the E90/E92 M3's will really drop much in price anymore since it was the only gen with the V8. E92 DCT will probs drop more since there were so much more produced than E90 manual. Now's a good time to still be able to find them in relatively good condition and low mileage.

Hondaracer 01-22-2021 11:04 AM

Those M5’s might be some of the nicest looking vehicles BMW ever came out with. Definitively BMW

I was under the impression that a vehicle has crashed into a fence at that PCA Tradex event. Perhaps that was the reason that gave Tradex cold feet to allow for another event there?

UBCSCC has already indicated that they have no plans to host any autox events this year due to a lack of available venues. :(

twitchyzero 01-22-2021 01:19 PM

the black plastic molding that wraps around the whole car needs to go though :suspicious:

hmm - I didn't hear that, and I'm in a few club chats (not saying it's not the case though).

I've paid for the PCA autox day and they're hanging onto the cancelled regi fees for a TBA event. There has been no indication from the club that it's not happening as soon as we're able.

I'll reach out.

Usually base 350's go for this or more. Not sure what a supercharger will do to modify that sweet Voodoo flat plane crank sound though
