2001 M5, low miles, looks pretty clean.

I remember a few years back I could have gotten one for $20k. Considering how the price on this is gonna keep going up if it's kept clean I'll call this one a good buy.

US cluster on Alberta plates is not an issue. But there was no mention of that in the ad. But if its an US car, the climate control should be in F but its in C. That's a red flag for me. The red warning arrows on the dash too. Heritage leather without wood trim is odd as well. Some of the cosmetic choices are odd as well. It looks like it has complete leather package. Which is nice when new, but upkeep and is going to suck. At that ride height, I'm fairly sure the under car plastics, liners, exhaust wont be in good shape. No mentions of the mechanicals at all. Could be a good thing if you are an optimist. For 40k, I would expect it to be a lot nicer. Just some stray observations.

Pretty sure this car was for sale last year and it was sitting behind the hedge of the house that's next to the complex that LA Chicken in Richmond is in.

my buddy tried to fire sale his for 20k last year. got a few bites, but ultimately had to race c19 to europe before he got shut out. smart boy found a storage spot and it's quietly appreciating. He's going to get to come back to a nice car or a nice profit next year.

Fair ask. starting to take an appreciation on these mk2 late model 16V jettas.

The Producer 03-22-2021 08:37 AM

^^ I'm really surprised that's still for sale

I posted it on dubberz FB group 2 weeks ago. Many members contacted the seller and were informed that he was going to go down the extensive list of interested parties in order.

If that car is even relatively rust free that is a very good price, for a very low production edition. Same year 16v GTI in that kind of shape would be 10k.

Thread content: another weird one.

This is the cheapest 993 I have seen in a very long time. Sellers blurb is just dumb enough to be true. I can't quite bring myself to buy another cab, but it would be a stepping stone towards a coupe. I just can't see any aircooled car coming down in price, and I'm certainly not making any more money. The gap is widening.

Someone do it! Nick Murray on youtube seems to be loving his 993 cab

TouringTeg 03-22-2021 05:36 PM

A friend sent me that 993 on Friday. Seller seems like a pita to deal with.

I would suggest an inspection at Porsche Victoria or Forward Auto. As well check the Carfax because I wonder what kind of accidents it has. It seems under market.

For sale is my stock collector plated black 1994 Mazda Miata in excellent condition with a matching hardtop.

Low mileage, currently sitting at 174,100 KMs.

Never driven in wet conditions throughout my ownership and always garage kept.

Soft top rarely used and is in excellent condition with no rips or tears.

Some chips and dings on the exterior as you would expect from a 27 year old car (most have been touched up). Mint interior and everything works as it should.

Selling because it sits in the garage most of the time as I have another convertible for the summer. If you're looking for a well maintained NA8 Miata, this is it.

All scheduled and preventative maintenance done over the last 1.5 years (~2000 KMs only):

- Timing belt and water pump
- Regular oil changes with synthetic oil
- Air filter
- CAS o-ring
- Cooling system updated with new OEM hoses, thermostat, radiator cap, coolant temperature sensor and sender (radiator already replaced by previous owner)
- Coolant flush
- Brake and clutch fluids
- Valve cover gasket
- Front main crank and camshaft seals
- Spark plugs
- PCV valve
- Manual transmission and differential fluids
- Shifter boot replaced with new shifter turret oil
- Serpentine belts
- Brake pads and rotors replaced in all four corners
- Wheel alignment
- Koni Yellow suspension kit (this is the only aftermarket upgrade, original shocks were blown)

Detailed spreadsheet of all work done is available upon request. Most receipts are also available.

Hardtop will NOT be sold separately.

SERIOUS INQUIRIES only. Please wear a mask and respect social distancing when viewing. Car will be sanitized after every showing.

Contact me via e-mail and I can provide you with my number if you want to chat over text/phone. Thanks for looking!

I don't think the crowds will be rushing to it and throwing money at the owner at $8800. It's not a buy-sight-unseen price even for a clean NA with hardtop.

Yeah... $8800 is hardly a great deal for an NA8 Miata... Was the price originally lower?

Simplex123 03-22-2021 11:11 PM

This one is a better buy

The Seller refused to give me the VIN
and replied with unfriendly message.

Just because people ask 40k doesn’t mean it’s worth 40k.

trollface 03-23-2021 06:13 AM

8K NA miata is a good deal now?

donk. 03-23-2021 08:41 AM

Apparently 25,000$, 2000, 200,000km s2000's are good deals too....

jaaagman 03-23-2021 08:52 AM

I like this a lot, though a few months ago, I saw another 06 silver 330i with lower mileage for $6k. Any idea of the airbag issue is difficult to fix? I heard it may need a replacement pad that's underneath the seat.

If it is caused by the mat being damaged, you can bypass it with a cheap plug-in device you can buy off ebay for like $20.

Just have to remember to not put pets/small kids in that seat as the seat will always think there's an adult in there at all times and will deploy the airbag in an event of an accident.

Is this.... a good deal?

https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van...295615766.html

Pricing is all over the freaking place, you have rusted out 400K examples going for 5,000 but does this automatically mean this is worth almost half of a brand new one?

Lately so many NAs on CL are asking $8K+ in worse condition that it has shifted my perspective of value...:okay: I would've thought this is overpriced if it was a year or two ago. My bad!

It's clean, but it's a base model. The market for people who want that and are willing to pay that much for it is gonna be tiny.

I sold my grandparents 2 owner (their nephew owned it for a year) 99 Limited that was nearly as clean apart from a couple parking lot scuffs, with a bit over 200k and 2 sets of brand new tires in a day for $9,500.

My neighbour just sold his identical one, but with higher mileage still and a few more scrapes for $6k.

The pictures and the ad make me think it's either a flipper or a dealer who got it off some seniors for peanuts and is now trying to make a crazy profit.
