yeaaah... I'd replace the word perfect with horrible. I'd not be recommending someone who is just starting a job this vehicle as you probably wont make all of your appointments. It is also one of the least reliable and most expensive vehicles to maintain if you never touched a BMW. Good value if you know what you are doing though.

Obviously I would talk to the seller first (one doesn't have to disclose where one is coming from) and book a time to view the car and probably confirm it the night before. I'm not just going to go somewhere and hope the seller is available.

I assume you sold your BMW? I was so close many times to contacting you about it... kept talking myself out of needing another car... can't decide if I was sad or happy to see the posting deleted hahaha

2008 BMW 128i - $7,900 (Port Coquitlam)

https://images.craigslist.org/00I0I_...q_1200x900.jpg

For sale is my 2008 BMW 128i in 'Midnight Blue' and tan leather interior.
The car has been imported from the USA by the previous owner and I have owned it since June 2017.
It always runs and drives great.
You'll get to enjoy all the fun of driving a 1 series BMW without the reliability issues of our friends with the 135i ;)
I need a pickup truck for towing a boat and that is the reason for selling this car.

^if it's imported from the USA, why is the license plate holder Kelowna BMW? Weird the seller blocked the rear but not the front.

Probably because the current or previous owner had it serviced there? It's 2 screws that takes less than a minute to change... Not really a big deal.

Likely had to get the BMW inspection at a dealer in order to get the letter for RIV.

jaaagman 04-29-2021 07:23 AM

FWIW the speedo is in MPH, but the digital odometer is showing in kms so it does suggest that it is a US car in Canada. I can appreciate sellers who doesn't list the car's mileage in miles.

someone talk some sense into me..
i'm looking for a new daily driver as I just sold my Mitsubishi lancer.
I was looking at a reliable japanese car...and came across this.....

is this cool? or a money pit? or both?
I know there are probably plenty of other reliable Japanese cars I can buy for a daily....but came across this and got tempted.

I am located in Calgary

CorneringArtist 04-29-2021 08:01 PM

If you're going to drop THAT much on an LS, move up to a UCF20. Hell, there's even decent LS430's at that price.

Hideous looking car, looks like a gas guzzler, at 265K kms, for $8900 ... give your frickin head a shake man. For a reliable car at that price point, find the lowest kms Civic and be done with it.

donk. 04-29-2021 08:27 PM

Dont know about you guys, but autotrader seems to have prices that are always at minimum 20% higher than CL, no matter the car

68style 04-29-2021 08:35 PM

That is WAY too much for a LS400 although the prices are jumping in the USA for low mileage ones now...

I've owned 2 of them a 94 and a 95.. both were under 150,000kms... they're nice and they were revolutionary at the time, but there's nothing wow about them in today's world. No luxury tech to speak of compared to today. If you appreciate refinement, there's some of that but again compared to modern cars.... well... it's still a quality automobile BUT things have come a long way since its era.

twitchyzero 04-30-2021 08:06 AM

guy just bought 911 so maybe he doesnt care about tech in this car and just want comfort

i wouldnt buy sucha gas guzzler for the city though

yea comfort for daily is what I am looking for
but also ideally an AWD since I live in Calgary

but yea I know that car probably didnt make sense and needed RS to talk some sense into me which you guys did!
Something about 90s Japanese Luxury Sedans.....

i'll probably stick to looking for something more sensible as a daily.

JDMDreams 04-30-2021 09:38 AM

Doesn't matter cuz you guys pay no taxes and cheap gas? But I would look for a ls430
