That's a lot of money for the mileage... there's a 60k one on CL for $13,000 guy seems in a hurry to sell it he's been dropping the price regularly

Consider a second or third gen GS for a little more engaging drive and more availability (maybe)

The face-lifted LS430 is :drool but hard to find

That's a shitload of awesome for 13k.

68style 04-30-2021 09:17 PM

My friend saw it in person said the guy is really nice, only problems were owner before him used it to move and the door panels have scratches in the back, seats are mint, but yah lots of scratches and the back centre console was gouged... also has an aftermarket exhaust on it that has slightly melted the rear valence.

^So cool but having watched Tyler Hoover and the Car Wizards struggles with their Allantes, I’m not brave enough to buy one. And I like aging BMW’s!

Thoughts on this one?
have an appointment to go look at it tomorrow.

Spectre_Cdn 05-01-2021 10:56 PM

The colour's generic but appropriate for what it is:lol

Looks like it has a backup camera so it might not be a base trim, which is nice. Although that means more potential things to break, but this generation is much more reliable than its successor and the engine is an iteration of the earlier V8. If the maintenance checks out, it's a much better choice than the LS400 haha. Curious as to what those two black mounts on the bumper are for...

The snowbird story does seem to align with where it’s parked in... a stable for cars?

TopsyCrett 05-01-2021 11:39 PM

Low KM, looks like the owner has a few other classics and looks like it was stored indoors. Looks solid, but can't really tell from two photos. Much better choice if it checks out, and only a few thousand more than that LS400.

I’m 99% sure that’s the car I tried to get when I was looking. PO was away on holiday and by the time he got back to me I had already picked up my current car.
CSB I know. Had about 140k back then so it hasn’t been driven much, but it looks a lot rougher.

I want it bad. Sick daily commuter

68style 05-02-2021 08:42 AM

^ Have you actually driven one??? I remember it being sick but like... before sick was actually a good thing

GIZZ 05-02-2021 10:15 AM

My buddy had that in highschool. He worked at a bodyshop so it was bombed all white, didn't look bad. But still a POS economy car.

If they cut the price in half they might have a chance of selling it, in a few months, maybe.

Was that the m3 with a bunch of rust for like 10k awhile back ? I’m actually considering purchasing a e36 m3 in the near future

westopher 05-02-2021 12:15 PM

I hope not. That one was FUCKED. Prices are going nuts for them right now, but so is everything else. That was a 5k car though.
If you need help with what to look for, I’m happy to. I follow the market closely, for no particular reason as I’m not in it lol.

Thanks man! He replied:

“ Are you close to North van ...
Be easier just to show it
Yes a minor rust around windshield from poor windshield Instalation
Priced it out at rusty hookers hot rod shop
$500
Body shop Paint engine hood roof and rear quarter panel $2k +/-
Plus cost of windshield and windshield molding . Under 4 k to make nice again”

It appears to be the one for sale earlier with rust around the windshield.

westopher 05-02-2021 01:41 PM

Ugh. I guess it’s worth a look if he will come down a LOT but that sounds like it’s gonna be a 6-10k endeavour, cause if that many panels need paint, paint em all.
