And back off topic, I sold my 69 acadian last May when I got laid off due to covid. Guy called me, we basically did the deal over the phone and he was coming over. 10 minutes later my boss called and said come back to work. My word was it, I had to sell it. It was relisted last fall for double and listed again now with no paint. | I kinda want this Caddy, big body,rwd,5.7 engine the last true luxury Cadillac. Rims are shit though. https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds...317417128.html

I'd have to check out the last owner on that one. Weigh the odds of getting shot in it.

Then you park it in the shop with the rest of them.
I like to mod the oddball cars, make it quicker than a stock m4. Then park it in the garage.

May as well have its ugly step-sister for a fraction of the price:

My problem is that he added the cost of all the repair bills to the asking price. Not super familiar with the market, but are Fleetwoods really worth 13 large these days... FWIW it appears to be in good condition.
I know it's not an apples to apples comparison but you can get an LS 460 with similar mileage for that money.

It's a 20 year old BMW with nearly 250,000kms on it... I can definitely see the argument for not practical and/or responsible lol

I daily my 23 year old bmw with nearly 200k on it. If I didn’t mod it, it wouldn’t have been an expensive car to own, and it still would have been plenty rewarding.

I should have qualified the M5 part, I don't think you can count the M5 in the same league of reliability as the E36 M3... at least nobody I've ever known that ever owned one could say that anyway. Extremely expensive car to own/run.

Yeah it’s definitely not as cheap to run, but it really depends where you’re starting with it. If the big ticket items are done like cooling system and bushings, you’re going to have an easy 50-70k if the car is a good runner.

(E36/46 M3's etc)

I don’t think compared to e46s, but honestly the e36 is substantially cheaper than both, especially if you have a 10mm socket. They are super simple to work on.
Like I said though, it’s so dependant on where the car sits in its maintenance life cycle. There are things that are huge dollar issues, but they really only have to get done every 100k, 10 years sort of thing. If you get something that’s been well maintained, you can get really lucky with an easy to keep up with, very rewarding car. Or you can definitely end up on the other end of the spectrum. Personally though, I think 30k on an m5 and putting 30k into it over 10 years still seems like a WAY more fun prospect than a new, 60k sedan, which even with a warranty, you’re losing that maintenance money you would have spent on the m5 to depreciation. Different paths to the same amount of money set on fire.

Reliability of a 400km M5? Yikes.

^ Good time to buy, cheaper than any E30 you can buy and a much nicer overall car (waiting to be beat by purists, do own E30 but realize its shortcomings lol)
These will go up in the future... not sure about this particular one due to mileage, but they will go up as the E30/E36 supply dries up
