Given what Elements go for these days this is a great price @ $4,500 especially being manual

I gotta imagine that with the market being so hot for SUVs that look butch and wear lots of cladding for phony outdoor activities that a modern Element would sell like hotcakes (like a Bronco Sport or Crosstrek). Always though it was a really cool box on wheels.

The Element would be a prime candidate for a stealth camper conversion thats all the rage these days. Those cars are surprisingly roomy on the inside.

Yup. Honda reliability, toast box layout, actually really undervalued for what they are.

It can fit 2 adults in the back without the middle/rear seats (under 5'6) or what i've seen is some folks will sleep with the glass hatch down, but the metal bottom hatch open and with some kind of netting box around the hatch to keep the bugs out.

Also I first thought the shifter being where it is was kinda weird but having the front floor clear is a storage space plus.

They're good but completely gutless when you're actually loading it with outdoor stuff.

I remember there was someone with a lowered green Element that was pretty active here a few years ago. Wonder where that car went.

Just noticed it's a Richmond ad but yes his salvage yard is in Surrey. Same pictures as he had before in his original ad. His name is Victor Yuen I believe.

Decent deal ... if it passes general mech inspection, and if you can negotiate a bit off to low to mid $5K, nice stealthy >250 hp family hauler, safe soccer/hockey mom mobile.

It was mine, but got sideswiped on the 99 a few years back and totaled it unfortunately.

It was absurdly reliable. In 357,000kms iirc only replaced wear and tear stuff, and steering rack had just started to sweat, and passed a comp a few months before it was totaled and passed with flying colours. Had the car since new and it was 80% highway miles. Only annoyance was the front windshield, which I had to replace 3 or 4 times from cracks.

There is literally not another car right now with the same practicality and versatility as the Element. The cargo capacity with the rear seats folded to the sides is complete insanity. Easily fit fridges, freezers, washing machines, motorcycles, ATVs etc. into the back without any issues at all. It's essentially an enclosed pickup truck.

I thought about getting another one for camping purposes, but I don't think I can really live with another heavy car with under 200hp. I remember struggling quite a bit on the Coquihalla maybe someday down the road. Prices are getting kinda wack for good examples, and the cheap ones are mostly trash.

Honda is trying to sell the new Passport as being a modern Element replacement, but I really don't see any correlation at all.

Okay I know the old elements were very practical, but "easily fit motorcycles or atv's into the back"...

Interesting how Elements are a hot topic. Because trucks are expensive af rn I mentioned selling both our relatively new vehicles, getting a truck and an older secondary vehicle to the wife. This was maybe a week ago. She asked what we’d get and the answer was not Miata. It was Element.

K24 Vtec swap or turbo? It's a K series, if you can think of it it's probably been done lol.
