09 NC2 gets an engine update that revs 500 more. |
1992 Celica 4WD Turbo/Alltrac for $10,500. Some nice mods done and apparently he's owned it for 15 years. He sent me pictures of the rust in the rear, it's pretty minor for a 30 year old car and the underside pictures he sent me look very clean. The A/C was removed though, otherwise I'd be going to buy it myself and selling my GTFour. https://abbotsford.craigslist.org/ct...348595685.html Quote:

But there are some known weak spots that the car has. If anyone is seriously interested in picking up an NC for whatever use, I can go into more detail about that. Personally, I wouldn't shy away from any year with the NC, although the expectations from the car will vary a bit depending on whether it is the pre-facelift model (06 - 08) or the post facelift NC2 / NC3 (09 - 15). The pre-facelift cars are gonna be noticeably cheaper. Yes, the NC1 engine is 500 rm shy of the NC2 / NC3 engines, and the NC2 / NC3 has better synchros and shift forks in the updated tranny. But if the engine blows, a 2.5L swap is easy and totally OEM-like. Locally, I think K2 Motorworks has done at least 2 such swaps, and the results have been nothing short of impressive. Some say a 2.5L-swapped NC is even better than an S2k, and I would not be surprised. If prepped to a similar level, I've always thought the handling of the Miata was superior to that of the Sk2. The S2k has the vastly superior engine in stock form, and was thus a much faster car than the NC Miata, but with a 2.5L swap in place, the table can quickly be turned. Man... I miss her everyday... :( https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw...A=w800-h533-no |

Swim against the current and get this. Pristine. 1965 Fiat 1500 Cabriolet Pininfarina - $18,000 https://vancouver.craigslist.org/nvn...345944777.html https://images.craigslist.org/00d0d_...7K_600x450.jpg https://images.craigslist.org/00606_...8h_600x450.jpg |
That is legitimately a great buy / great investment... can safely drive it now and then and not lose any money or probably even make some in the long run. Hell you could flip it for a tidy profit methinks. Even comes with a new convertible top! ^ nice find .. but yah, the price tag ... Something like this might fall in the 'Good CL category though' ... FWD - less things to go wrong. 2008 Saab 9-3 Sport Combi, 195K kms, FWD, clean title, $5800. Especially if you can knock it down to around $5000. https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van...346325810.html https://images.craigslist.org/00t0t_...t2_600x450.jpg |

Halo car - man I miss Saab. Great value at 10k for this if it’s been maintained abs accident free Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
^^ I just wonder how keeping a car like that alive will be, can you even get any parts. It's not like it's an exotic. But the company doesn't exist any more. |

There’s a good aftermarket scene for Saab. It sounds crazy but 2008 was a pretty long time ago now. Even if Saab was still around some oem parts would be NLA and hard to get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Ditto on the aftermarket scene for Saab. There are a lot of specialty shops that are out there and a strong forum community of which are alive and well. I've driven past some of the shops out here in the GTA and their meets are quite massive combined with the Volvo scene. |
