There was a similar one on sale in Port Moody, but based on the license and insurance sticker, this should be a different one. Same price too, but the mileage for this one is slightly lower I believe.

Very tempted to get this as a winter beater.

JDMDreams 10-22-2021 04:55 PM

I thought ppl say stay away from xi cars due to added complexity and extra transfer case issues??

westopher 10-22-2021 04:59 PM

Agreed with that. Also CV joints in the front are absolute garbage. The car eats through them almost yearly. My 323i has been a great car. Not without the normal bmw bullshit but including purchase cost and maintenance it’s been 6-7k over 4+ years of ownership. I got rid of my xi touring after only 2 months. Not all xi related issues, but they contributed to the decision.

jaaagman 10-22-2021 05:24 PM

Does this apply to just the E46 AWD cars or E9x as well?

westopher 10-22-2021 05:48 PM

The CV issue was with e46 only I believe. I'm honestly not familiar with e90 issues though. Cooling system is an issue only really for BMWs made between 1937 - present, so any pre war cars should be fine.:eek5x:

snowfarmer 10-22-2021 07:51 PM

this effing guy again.

He had it posted at $3K, I contacted him right away and was ready to drive down there and buy it but he told me he was away for a few days, by the time he got back he told me he'd had tons of responses and wasn't going to sell it for $3K, the price was now $5K. I told him he'd be doing pretty well if he got that much for it and at that price I wasn't interested. He listed it on CL for $5K and the ad disappeared after a couple of days, I figured it sold. I guess it didn't sell and here he is again. I don't think it's a flipper because the ad wording is very similar to his (including the bit about hitting the fence.) I wouldn't bother wasting any time contacting him, the ad will be gone and it'll be relisted in a few weeks for $7K. Or buy it, goddamn, this thing is appreciating fast, it's gonna be worth $50K by next summer the way it seems to be going.

I knew it was posted on here before, thanks snowfarmer

SkunkWorks 10-22-2021 08:43 PM

If you're going for an E46 touring, I'd hold out for a RWD example. But I'm biased.

If you want AWD - E91. No major issues with mine besides a speed sensor going out.

That looks spectacular inside and out for the mileage... how are some people SO EASY on their seats lol

tofu1413 10-23-2021 02:55 PM

I found the Japanese branded cars over the year to have overly soft leather that just hardens or tear over the years..

that solara is in fantastic shape!

68style 10-24-2021 05:01 PM

Little bit beat up, but at $3800 it's about half price of most other IS300's posted:
