Registering it as a demo would not work. They're never registered as sold with the manufacturer until they come out of demo service and are actually sold. Before that they are marked as demo's, but not punched as sold. When someone insures one, it's done as a lease, with the dealer being the lessor, and the employee being a lessee, that way the dealer retains full control of the vehicle, while retaining basically zero insured risk.
