^its cool but i really dont see the appeal of these. The manuals in the base v6 cayennes are horrendous to drive, engines underpowered. Not only that, this is literally the base to the base model with halogen headlights and the most basic plastic interior.

I don't think think there is going to be a huge demand for a V8 Jag that isn't old school, but this seems like a fun beater. Jaguar XF V8 with 198k kms for $7k

I've always wanted to try the manual x5 and cayennes. The 3l x5 wasn't bad in auto. Not fast but preppy for what it is and handled great for a suv.

I wonder how reliable those newer jaguars are.

2019 Jag XJ R-Sport for $60k with only 36k km. The depreciation on it is pretty wild (retailed for about $100k or so. The black wheels are tasteless for such a classy car but easy enough to fix.

I've driven a manual cayenne, it was not anything special... Not enough power, and cheap interior. Gearbox was EXCELLENT though.

Speaking of gear boxes

Anyone else, only drive shitty old cars, then your friend buys a brand new manual, and says "want to drive it?"

Then you say, ok, and then you hit the clutch and shift it a few times, and the first thing out of your mouth is
Holy shit, now thats a smooth ass transmission

Now i ask him what its like to be a baller every time he picks me up

I find on modern cars the transmissions are wonderfully smooth, but the clutches are springy and doesn’t translate a lot of information to the driver

Apparently moving the shifter around while sucking back drool in my mouth and saying “god damn thats tight, feels so good” is a quick way to never get invited to try any friends new manual transmissions again… word travels fast in small circles

Constantly on the brink of stalling whenever I drive a newer manual car, those clutch pedals are way too soft

It depends on the car. For example my focus ST and RS are springy, but have great feel. Clutch is not what I’d consider spongy, but since they’re all fly by wire, they have an anti-stall feature where if the car thinks you’ve let off the clutch without enough throttle, it can open the throttle body a few degrees and match the 1st gear low revs properly.

It sounds intrusive but it really isn’t, it’s pretty neat. My wife likes it since she only drives my car a handful of times a year so it makes the first 10 minutes of getting used to it again a breeze

rev hang, non linear dbw, clutch delay valve, overly assisted pedal spring. all these ruin the driving feel on newer manual cars.

My dads 993 911 is about the only manual vehicle I ever drive anymore and it’s got pretty amazing feel through the clutch

When we were in Ireland we rented a Peugeot SUV that was manual and the clutch basically left me feeling like why the hell you guys still fucking with manual vehicles, this poppy spring loaded clutch was basically either fully engaged, fully disengaged, virtually no feel in the middle
