They are asking like double the price too. Those third gen GS are usually in like 8 to $10k range. |

If you really want a GS here's a 450h - https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rch...419494707.html
"Good hybrid battery" not sure what that means but better than "needs replacement" |

197,000kms... low kms... and filthy photos from 13,000 kms ago... yah sure.
From what I know, those hybrid GS are kind of a pain in the ass. Troublesome by Lexus standards anyway.

It's a front end M3 swap. To be fair it's pretty hard to tell without an image of the rear fender.

^^ That's sick! Van life! It's all done up inside too. If everything works, pretty good deal if you ask me. And it's diesel, hopefully decent on fuel. Just got to get a Malone tune on that baby. With real estate prices as high as they are, get one of these and park it at Jericho beach man!

Sorry but WTH is so good about those 90's bimmers? Just sentimental nostalgia? I mean I can probably run faster than one of those and many Euro cars in the 90's got this serious stank about them as soon as you get in.

Looks retro, yet has some of the most basic modern amenities.
Parts are still a dime a dozen for maintenance. Easy to work on, doesnt require computers for diags, just need a good set of hand tools (and a torch for rusty bolts)
Still decently safe, these things were still built like tanks. The last of the BMW's that were designed to be "built to last"
Car also teaches the fundamentals of driving / car control - no modern aids besides ABS. Naturally balanced chassis along with RWD will teach a driver how to skid. Phenomenal steering weight, although the e30's deserve a quicker steering rack from the later Z3's.
Nimble, agile little cars around town.
Drive one, it'll bring some driving joy if the e30 / e34 is sorted out.

^ you know what I mean by a 90's euro stank? It's in the MB's as well ... what do you do about that? Just grin and bear it? Sometimes, it's so strong that it is actually nauseating.

4 door bronzite, yuck. At least it’s not big bumper
Edit: but yes it’s a good price. 1/3 the cost of the same car but white https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van...428387866.html |

Yah I ended up with a bronzite E30 too, my first ever Euro car let alone BMW... definitely wasn't my first choice for colour... I did want a 4 door though, I like the lines somehow on it.
I had no idea what the big deal was either until I got in it and even in somewhat poor condition I felt like king of the world driving it for the first time... such a great seating position and everything feels right... also probably the smoothest car I've ever driven on the highway after I got the shitty aftermarket 17" copycat wheels off it and put a set of bottlecaps on. Butter.

Really I drove a e30 many years ago and only thing I remember was how small it was inside and I'm not a big guy.

I remember my sibling buying rebuild status e30s for less than 500 and parting them out. People loved that 330 armrest to install in the 318s and 323s.

My roommate in college had one ...rich family. I borrowed it a couple of times, it was classy luxury for late 80's ...my memory of it was just how slow that thing was.

Did everyone own or borrow an E30 318? I drove my friends moms 318 convertible and it was the same as everyone else's experience. Nice car, but slow as balls.

I still miss my E30 to this day because it was such a fun car to drive and it has a design aesthetic inside and out that makes an E30 an E30. I got an E36 M3 after the E30 and while it was a thrill to drive, I always think back to the E30. |
