They look cool

320icar 01-22-2022 09:07 PM

I enjoyed my e28 535iS more than my e30 318 or my 325i touring.

Bonus points: I got my forum name from my e21 320i, but over the years so many people have tried to attack me while I was trolling for owning a base model bmw lol, assuming it was a new one LOL. Bitch I’m even more broke than you think trololo

68style 01-22-2022 09:50 PM

I worked at BMW when they sold E46 320i’s new every single customer of one always asked for it to be debadged upon delivery lol

BIC_BAWS 01-22-2022 11:15 PM

I had an 1989 325is with a stick shift. I later had an E46 and E39 with stick shifts. All 3 were terrific cars and can only be appreciated in hindsight when compared to the modern era of cars.

I still miss my E30. Until you drive one for a few hours, you will not understand what all of the fuss is about.

Someone lent me an e30 m3 for a day and it fucked me up financially.
They are light, RWD, most have LSD, good seats, a really driver oriented cockpit, near 50/50 weight dist and nothing you don't need. The 325i's are actually reasonably fast, 318is is still fun as hell. Think of them as a RWD mk2 gti with better build quality.
m3 is slow around town because no low end torque, but on an open road, it's just so balanced. You feel the car through your feet, your hands, your ass, and it just does what you want it to do at the slightest input.

What kind of steering wheel is that?

westopher 01-25-2022 07:10 AM

Italvolanti formel. It’s the wheel they used in the DTM e30 M3s in the 80s/90s

tofu1413 01-25-2022 09:35 AM

Nice pants bro.

westopher 01-25-2022 09:39 AM

What pants?

!Aznboi128 01-25-2022 09:40 AM

Who's VW Golf did you steal the shift knob from?

westopher 01-25-2022 09:45 AM

Obviously the producer

Tell me about what it does to your ass. Asking for a friend.

westopher 01-25-2022 09:59 AM

I have custom pleasure sport seat. I’ll DM you specs.

68style 01-25-2022 10:38 AM

You should put your M3 on BAT and make sure you mention in the listing that you never drive it with pants of any sort on. The comment section would be so legit.

Those are definitely DDE spec pants

westopher 01-25-2022 10:45 AM

I’ve been a skid for far longer than it’s been cool to pretend you are one. Respect the pioneers.

The Producer 01-25-2022 11:16 AM

doubt it. buying a desirable classic these days = $0 cost of ownership given how much they've been appreciating these past few years

given current FMV, westopher could probably net 2x what he paid for it (assuming he didn't full yolo and overpay at the time).

68style 01-25-2022 02:06 PM

I have been using this... approach/excuse with a lot of my car ownership recently.

"But... it's literally making money"

Considering I can probably sell my F80 and walk away with only a 15k hit from NEW including taxes after 3.5 years. Yeah market is insane.

I don't think the value of my car will stay that high but who knows?

68style 01-25-2022 02:25 PM

Needs to be a classic or something with supply problems (ie: trucks / hybrids / sold out cars with demand). Everything else is just riding coat tails or inflation.
