Not sure it should have passed inspection with passive reflectors on the side.

A lot of older cars that get shipped across oceans get that, ocean air is hella rusty lol

twitchyzero 02-23-2022 06:09 PM

imported new cars before pdi would look kinda like that?

EvoFire 02-24-2022 09:29 AM

I think it depends on how the car gets shipped. If it's in a container or a roll-on roll-off where the cars are inside the ship it shouldn't be affected?

tofu1413 02-24-2022 12:59 PM

I remember on some of the older BMWs, pre 90s, get a light coat of wax on the underside, the motor and the shock towers prior to being shipped out.

Maybe that buick was built domestically in china.... hence no shipping wax/ prep for boat ride.

Great mileage and price... looks to be in nice shape for $3k and 118,000kms:

^ gonna recommend to colleague who is looking to get a fuel efficient small commuter. I owned one of these and really liked it. Luxury brand, Honda reliability.

It’s a D-series, isn’t the J32 V6 transmission the time bomb?

Any J-series. J30, 32, 35, 37 all pretty bad.

Darn, even the ones in 3G TL’s and the 9-speed ZF, 10-speed in the Odyssey?

I only remember the 3.2TL and early 2000’s Accord V6’s needed transmission rebuilds after a certain mileage.

The TLX with the v6 (j-series) had trans issues.

The 10-speed has been better not as many reports as previous but earlier Pilot had issues.

how is the market nowadays? are sellers / dealers still demanding COVID prices or are buyers seeing more room to negotiate? Im seeing some cars sit for longer on autotrader

68style 02-25-2022 01:32 PM

There's very little fresh inventory and anything resembling a good deal is snapped up in minutes. It's a seller's market if you have a good product.

What you see sitting is sitting for a good reason.

tofu1413 02-25-2022 01:41 PM

the best deals are sold prior to listing or even an hour after listing.

such is the market right now. people are still camping infront of their computers looking!

Used 718s/911s/Miata prices are nuts.

Small example: https://www.autotrader.ca/a/mazda/mi...202N7&sprx=100

6 years ago (6!) I sold my 2008 Miata GT with ~24,000km for $20,500 and here is a nearly identical car selling for $19k list and it's not overpriced for the market.

My RDX sells for maybe a few grand less than what I paid for it 2.5 years ago.

To think I bought a 2006 NC GS for $10,500. No way I can get another for that price.
