2013 Fiat 500 Abarth - $8,000 (Vancouver)

https://images.craigslist.org/00v0v_...m_1200x900.jpg

Selling my 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth, only 39,xxx kms. I'm still using it as a daily driver for work until I sell it. It's been a blast to drive and is reliable. Dealership serviced only. I own 3 vehicles. I've decided to part with this one. If you want a stock Abarth, this car is not for you. Stock only has 160hp base. My car is sitting around 250hp. Leather interior, moon roof. Top model available at the time. 5 speed manual. I think this car would be fun for any car enthusiast.

A stock abarth on CL with more than double my km's will have an asking price of over $15,000. I think you're getting a hell of a deal. I've spent well over what I'm asking on mods alone, and I love this car but I just don't need it anymore and it would be nice to get something back for it. I've always filled with 91 octane, and I recommend it, as you could potentially damage the engine if you only put 87. even with 91 octane at the insane gas prices today, the car can still be filled up for around $50 which is reasonable.

I have upgraded the engine with:

Upgraded Intercooler, Bigger Turbo /w turbo blanket, Full Magnaflow exhaust system, High flow catted downpipe /w heat jacket, Alpha Romeo c4 coils, go-fast bits diverter valve, forge motorsports turbo actuator, forge motorsports recirculating blow off valve, Eurocompulsion v4 air intake system, Lightweight pulley system, upgraded sparkplugs and much more

Engine is tuned: Tributo Ferrari Abarth 695 tune for the base map, Sport mode activates phase 3 Tune.

I just had the car serviced a day before posting this ad, it's good to go!

Please call/text/email if you have any questions or are interested. Cheers.

You made a rhyme

320icar 02-27-2022 12:31 PM

I wonder if anyone would trade an abarth for my STi. This fuel bill is going to be the death of me

bcrdukes 02-27-2022 12:51 PM

If any of you have been following the Abarth's that pop up on Vancouver Craigslist over the past, oh, 2 years, most of them show up with needing or have already had its engine rebuilt. As they say, "Fix it again, Tony!"

I have a CL notification on these when one pops up, but I've become hesitant after seeing a number of them being rebuilt units. This one is a good price though assuming everything works.

I am a bit less risk averse than most, but if a car has required an engine rebuild or has been rebuilt, and if something like an Abarth is up for sale for "cheap" I'd be willing to pick one up for some cheap thrills. Of course, it would suck if there were hundreds of other looming issues like exploding cooling systems, or a wheel hub about to fall off, but that all comes with doing due diligence.

I've often been tempted to pick up one of these Abarths, but I remember test driving a brand new one when they first came out and then and getting one as a rental (of all places, in Saskatoon) and I truly did not enjoy it. Fast forward to 2017 when I drove a co-worker's Abarth, I still didn't enjoy it, so I've been haphazardly approaching the idea of getting one. Is this car for everyone? Probably not. But am I a glutton for punishment? Oh, yes. I love all things Italian. Especially broken Italian junk. :sweetjesus:

68style 02-27-2022 02:56 PM

My buddy that was trying to get this one already has 1 and had 1 before too he loves them... no significant problems... just some crappy quality plastics here and there.

It's a pretty fun car to drive... I don't personally like the whole short wheelbase sitting up high thing, feels a bit tippy to me, but otherwise it makes all the right noises and feels good.

Exactly on point. Feels weird sitting up high while zipping around and crappy plastics. Right car for the right person.

SpuGen 02-27-2022 06:09 PM

I have an Abarth.
Didn't think I would get one, but it was cheap enough. I figured I would get some cheap thrills, maybe let the GF drive it at trackday.

3 days later it exploded and I sent it to TSS to get a new motor swapped in.

LUCKILY. It's the same motor as the Dodge Dart. Trans and axles are different, but those are supposed to be bulletproof compared to the motor. They're incredibly sensitive to oil pressure. A slight drop in oil pressure means your exhaust valve actuator doesn't get the PSI it needs, and kaboom. Dropped valve.

If you see one cheap, expect a rebuild.
Find one where the current owner has already fixed everything at a reputable shop and just wants it out of thier life to move on.

That aside.
Fucking love driving the thing. I hate little dinky cars, but the one I have has a bit of suspension done, and handles pretty snappy. Love it.
Would I buy another? Strong no.
It's a toy car. Get one only if you have full intentions of flipping it.

$6,000 in additional investment into the thing, and it's like a bad relationship. It just wont go away.

jinxcrusader 02-28-2022 01:37 AM

I got rid of my Abarth in 2018 for the Stinger. I regret that decision very much. I wish I kept the Abarth (and got the Stinger in addition for daily), it was easily the most fun of any car i've ever owned. The exhaust :sweetjesus: especially after a few cheap mods like a short shift adapter, BoV and sportline springs

It had about 120k kms and didn't need an engine rebuild. I lucked out, it was one of the few that hardly even burned oil

trollface 02-28-2022 06:33 AM

I'd honestly set it on fire if I bought a car and the motor exploded 3 days later.

Well, you do have a track record of working on difficult cars and complicated problems.

tofu1413 02-28-2022 08:10 AM

I think stock power levels to about 200hp is more than enough for that little car.

The thing drove like a go kart and the only annoying thing was the stock suspension tended to nose dive a lot during high speed braking.. the rear moves around under braking.

Otherwise I had a blast for 2 years with my old one. It has so much character for a little car.

If I understand correctly, the seller thinks it's salvage because it's modified?
Assuming everything's alright, you get a wrx for 2800

twitchyzero 02-28-2022 04:23 PM

vi?
rust, windshield's done, driver side pax door mismatched

The Producer 02-28-2022 04:59 PM

this is a weird one. it's not setting off my scam sensors - other than the price being at least 10k low even w the mileage.
