I'm the opposite, when I was young and poor I bought expensive JDM parts and high end audio. Now I'm older with more money I'm frugal on mods FeelsBadMan

i wanted to do this to my wife's car. she fucking LOST IT on me

That looks so sick. Probably too late but theoretically what are the chances of you just getting it done without asking/telling and her not noticing. Would have been easiest if done day 1 of ownership heh.

Plastic bumper manual E30 vert - get it before it's gone:

https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van...486096793.html

A cheap E46 with the right transmission - just have to check the rear subframe:

The ones that ditched the stupid single clutch are pretty good cars I think.

There's a shit tonne of them for sale all over the USA for low 20's!

Badhobz 05-20-2022 02:49 PM

id get one (or kept my GT) if i had the garage space for it. Both the QP and the GT were designed, built, and engineered under ferrari ownership. Not some BS fiat/chysler bastardization.

Both have ferrari hand built NA v8's
Both styled by pininfarina

Yes maintenance is crazy but honestly they are pretty reliable for an exotic car. Get the ZF tranny and you'll be okay. If i were to do it all over again i would not have dealer serviced my GT. I would have just gone to a good reputable shop and would have saved thousands probably. Ultimately having it dealer serviced did not really add too too much to the resale. 1 owner, no accidents, and dealer serviced === 50k canadian on a car that cost me 140k in 2011 (i wanna die)

JDMDreams 05-20-2022 03:10 PM

I wonder if Levantes are any good, reviews seem decent and it's a much newer car. See them in the $50k range, also stelvios

i need another project like i need a hole in my head, but that e30 would be in the garage for sure if i hadn't run out of parking passes.

Ugh… ripped top, probably about to grenade its engine, Ontario car….. but still tempting

Edit: I messaged her, she has an interesting profile photo… but she told me that the first person who messaged is already on his way over

JDMDreams 05-21-2022 04:19 PM

I was kinda tempted too, but not sure how it will work cuz Ontario plates, do you still just fill a ICBC transfer form? Taxes? And those motors like to blow?

Would fail out of province inspection with the ripped top, unless you get your "buddy guys shop" to do it

Not to mention whatever other issues they may find, I avoid out of province cars completely, unless its a newer car in excellent condition

SkunkWorks 05-21-2022 07:49 PM

There's a reason why people sell cars without doing an oop first...

None of them are ever because the car will "easily pass first time"

tofu1413 05-21-2022 08:31 PM

9/10 times private sale with outstanding OOP is a car that has failed it before.

Proceed with caution. (Or just take the provincial inspection form with you and DIY it as you look at the car)

trollface 05-22-2022 07:52 AM

Car does not run, issue is super minor, just needs a new battery - No time to fix
Car not running, only issue is a fuse, $.50 fix - I don't have time
Only needs a tune - I don't have time to fix

Heard this one since Tyrannosaurus Rex roamed the earth.

Hondaracer 05-22-2022 10:53 AM

Lol reminds me of a POS Chrysler LHS a friend bought from his neighbours “gardener”

The guy said all it needed was a new fuel cap as there was air getting into the fuel system. Thousands of dollars and hours later my buddy bought a second LHS that eventually went from the parts car to the main car and the gardeners car became a parts car to scrape together a working vehicle lol

westopher 05-22-2022 12:46 PM

Imagine buying a car that needs a fuel cap, and not showing up with said fuel cap to make sure it drives away.

Not fantastic price given the mileage but unicorn as well as 'meticulously cared for'. Could possibly snag a deal if you're an enthusiast looking for something different.

Wow.. a reasonably priced CRX project?

People lusted after these cars in high school and now have money for a toy. That’s less likely with the younger demographic that was wanting the is250/350 when they came out. They will probably have their day in 5 years or so.

Facts. E46 M3 was my high school dream car. Drooled over the IS350 in university. Got both now in my mid-30s and they are relatively cheap.

I remember rich kids drove E90, A4, C class, and IS to university. I would struggle up the hill to SFU with my 130hp Corolla.

The parts alone are worth more than they are asking.
The Quaife alone.
Momo ITR wheel is up there in price.

Def good buy if it is legit.
