It's also super annoying on American cars if you import them here, some people are smart enough to do the calculation into kms but then the next 5 places will just enter the miles as kms and suddenly your whole CarFax report is full of fucking odometer rollback warnings and every buyer thinks you're a scam artist.

You can actually contact CarFax Customer Service to get this corrected. They will ask you for an image of the current odometer and a photo of the Vin plate then they can look up the data source and correct it.

This fee has gone away just recently. I am not sure if it is exclusive to dealers or not but typically ICBC will do it on a blanket basis so I think it applies to dealers and individuals. $28/pop to print something was such a rip off.

tofu1413 06-02-2022 07:59 AM

whoa. no tach but with the clock!! pretty awesome minimalist motoring right there.

68style 06-02-2022 09:17 AM

Those cars are pretty awful to drive... but you have to respect your elders.

I cannot for the life of me believe the dash isn't cracked. I used to see 3 year old ones with cracked dashes.

tofu1413 06-02-2022 09:22 AM

My friend bought one for $500 way back in the day as a beater.

fit all his gear, had a working heater and was hilarious to drive (I think it was a 4sp box too)

had it for 2 years, only changed its oil and still managed to get $1000 out of it said and done.

68style 06-02-2022 09:27 AM

I wonder how much this dude paid before he's now flipping it

The shell looks good though, no? At least no rust at the rear quarter panel common cancer spot, but maybe it was just completely bondo-ed up LOL~

What the heck are the odds of that?

fliptuner 06-02-2022 11:22 PM

I posted this for parts last year and had people bitching and moaning that I was ruining a perfectly good car. So I offered it up for $1000 and posted pics of the 1/4's.

Spoiler!

JDMDreams 06-03-2022 09:30 AM

I'm no body man but can't you just rwb cut it out then just slap on some rocket bunny wide fenders?

Hondaracer 06-03-2022 10:36 AM

That VW has to be one of the very few 2 door wagons no? Lol

this guy's an idiot (its not AWD), and the km's are pretty high for a 2018. But maybe if you wave 70something in his face, you can probably get it.

Not sure if the history is clean or not.

Other clowns are selling for equal or more than MSRP.

2018 has the worst trannys. Not programmed properly and shifts pretty rough when you're going slow. Also the suspension was revised in 2020 to make it less crashy and they added apple car play

JDMDreams 06-03-2022 07:48 PM

Yea I've been watching the LC. Theres also a dark grey one for sale? For a long while. Too bad stonks are down and rates are up :okay:

Roach 06-03-2022 07:52 PM

Has a $5400 claim and originated out of Alberta. Wholesale for them is around 77-80k given mileage and condition. This car has a $5k dec. It is the lowest priced LC in Canada.

Unfortunately, these make a poor investment. Average days on market is very high and given the investment involved I can't say I would ever touch one.

Yea I just feel like their prices haven't bottomed out yet and there's more deprecation to go. Can't own this for a few years without losing my ass. :okay:

Badhobz 06-03-2022 09:07 PM

given the low numbers that people are buying these things, im not sure if they'll ever get that low... probably bottom out around the 50-60k range? hell even sc430's have crept up to the 20k range both pre and post pandemic.

same with IS-F's, lowest i think was 30k... now they are getting higher.

How do you approximate what a dealer's wholesale cost is? Dealer's always say the offer is lower than their cost whenever you try to negotiate even a little these days

Dealers have tools to retrieve information such as historical wholesale prices at auctions and metrics like the average time a model sits in retail before it sells.

You won't always know the exact cost of any one unit at a dealer, but with enough wholesale data, the average cost becomes a good place to start.
