That is a really good score Gerbs, well bought. If I'd seen it I would have bought it.
Rather than fix the drivers seat, do an S4 interior swap for $600! https://vancouver.craigslist.org/pml...501813157.html

maaaan - i forgot the RS classy's even still existed. I'd have bought this in a heartbeat for a ski wagon.
long live the forums! | Yeah I didn't even bother listing it on CL/FB because I'm not in BC and my parents weren't going to deal with CL/FB tire kickers/test drivers, so it was purposely priced low for a simple/quick sale. The dealership offered them $1K on trade (understandable) so it's a win-win for RS and for my parents.
I guess the only loser is me, because if I was in Vancouver it would've been a great winter "beater".
First thing my dad said about the Tucson Plug-in is that he missed the stereo in the Audi. He's happy with the higher ride height though, his hip/knee joints + the low A4 = destroyed side bolster with the way he has to climb in/out.
At the end of the day I had 13 RS members reach out, some willing to e-transfer the whole amount right away, but Gerbs was the first. Maybe could've eked out $1K but more than happy for the smooth sale and my parents were really averse to having it sit around for more than a week even...

Should be an aftermarket bluetooth adapter you can plug into the CD changer connector of the factory radio etc.
I am not talking about one that plugs into the cigarette lighter and broadcasts to an empty radio station... but an actual lined in bluetooth device.
I don't think your gen of Audi has AUX input for the stereo IIRC.

Swapping that stuff is stupidly easy. Seats are like 4 bolts each, the door card is prob 2 or two screws in all and the rest are clips. I bet you can swap all that in 1-2hr

It's German though... probably 20 screws and some right next to each other for no apparent reason lol
I doubt the back seats are compatible, the wagon's back seats probably fold down.
The SportCross wagon version of the IS300, even the front passenger seat is different because it folds forward unlike the sedan!

even if you don't install the back seat, it would be worth doing for the way nicer sport front seats and door cards.

swapp all four door cards and front seats only.
leave the wagon back seat there for dog use.... or uh... heavier duty activities. don't wanna ruin that white insert there with stains

I believe the one you want to search for are Audi MMI 3G adapters. They're a bit flakey because they're all aftermarket now (or absurd prices for the OEM ones) - my dad had a Bluetooth one that worked well for a few years but died eventually.
You can also just throw MP3s on an SD card and put it in - there's a slot on the dash there. Easier than burning CDs.

What's everyone's opinion on how long this Avant will likely last?
I've never seen an Audi with this high of KM before but I plan to take it to Kelowna in a few weeks and hopefully road trip down the coast after I replace fluids, brakes and tires.

I picked up an 211 E320 wagon... its got 292k km on it and still goes like a tank.

right or wrong, im always under the impression that if the car went over 200,000km's, it probably can go another 200,000km.
Sounds stupid, but my theory is that IF it was neglected, most engines (especially german with their low tolerances to lazy maintenance) would have crapped out or needed major repairs already. Now given that you'll still need to do basics like valve cover, chains, belts, pulleys, fluids, etc, but i think the overall internals is strong enough to go 200k already, it should keep going.
or maybe im just crazy.

If it was serviced on schedule you have a reasonable chance of it lasting a while. Did it get regular oil changes, has the timing belt and WP been done?
VAG used the TFSI engine in that thing in so many cars, parts are easy to come by and there's a huge body of knowledge on DIY'ing them. How long will it last can be answered with a couple of questions:
1) how much experience DIY'ing do you have or how much do you want to spend at a mechanic?
2) what is this car to you, is it something that needs to be running perfect 100% of the time because it's how you get to work to feed your family or is it just a toy?
Any car with that many km on the clock is going to encounter stuff wearing out even if it doesn't have any catastrophic failures, there is just going to be stuff at the end of service life. If you're OK with everything not being 100% perfect 100% of the time and can turn some wrenches, you can probably make that car last a long time. If you need it to be perfect and don't want to DIY it, it could become a German albatross around your neck. And then you will be posting it up for sale and some idiot like me who is a glutton for punishment via aging German automotive engineering will be round your house buying it! Quote:
