I think this is a good deal? At least the car looks to be in a really good condition, except for the minor thing or two mentioned in the ad. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2170...8125540164658/

Discussed a bunch 2 pages ago. I’ll reiterate though, I think it’s the best one car solution an enthusiast can have, but I wouldn’t personally want it as the daily when you have a fun car. Too much temptation to mod, not particularly cheap to own, and at a spot in its lifespan where many parts could be coming due. If certain things like suspension bushings and cooling system (are cooling systems still an issue on newer BMWs?) are already done, I’d say it’s a great buy.

HG typically non issue for BMW, must have been thinking of Subaru.

i shouldve kept my VW sportwagen and sell it 4 big bucks. | They were already in the 12k range in 5 years ago when the sedans/coupes were at about 8k. They've only gone up since with everything else that's desirable.

Valve cover gasket needs to be changed on the BM. Very minor though, I guess I can neglect it for now until the VANOS rebuild happens this winter. 1 year past warranty now with our Subie but no issues yet. |

I loved the Golf wagon except it wasn't nice enough or quite fast enough for me - I wanted more luxury features like seat memory and ventilation. A Golf R wagon (or even a GTI wagon) would have hit the sweet spot for me (instead of my RDX). My wife would have liked it better too as she loves VWs and prefers smaller cars.

I really miss mine. | It seemed like it was more a case of poor sales in the US who then cut it and then VW Canada couldn't justify the cost of certifying it only for Canada? It seems like there are a reasonable number of Golf wagons going around in Canada - maybe similar volume to the R and not far off the GTI. Did VW ever break out the sales data?
The previous gen Golf was a bloody amazing car - wish it would have fit my lifestyle a bit better. I'd have happily paid $50-55k for a R wagon. Shit, put the RS3 motor in there and maybe I would have found the nickels for a RS wagon (future engine swap).

Yours for the low low price of prob 60k. Let's be real, these kinds of swaps are not commercially realistic. They are just "look what we can do" shop marketing.

If you just chip and tuned the 1.8T 4motion wagon to the hilt ... you might get over 300 hp and that's plenty. Getting near 500 hp is just for bragging rights ... unnecessary.

The golf wagon was a sloppy undersized/underpowered miniwagon, soccer moms just want the SUV. Plus the crosstrek owns the “lifted wagon” market.
Golf R wagon would be so nice to have and I think they’d sell fine if they priced them around the same as regular golf r. My wife would be driving one for sure I know that much, would be a blast to have as a daily. Reg R is just a bit smol for a pupper and 2 rugrats.
