Jeez, is he still around? I used to walk past his shop every day when I was in high school! |
The Volvo / Subaru whisperer ... disorganized as hell but knows his bricks. |
Being an indie mechanic is so hard, you need to have so many job skills because you can't necessarily afford to hire someone just to do your paperwork or billing etc... I use a guy in Richmond for a lot of grunt work and it takes me months after the job is done to get him to tell me how much I owe him. There's stuff I have been trying to pay him for like a year+... I text him like clockwork once a month "Did you figure out what I owe you yet?" meanwhile extra jobs keep getting tacked on. It actually has gotten to the point where I have my own spreadsheet of what he's done because I don't think he remembers anymore and I don't want to short him. |
Speaking of Volvos, does anyone know someone with an older Volvo that needs some brake pads? I cleaned these out of my Father in Law's shed, brand new OEM. I felt it was a waste to just throw them in the trash. If anyone here can use them, you can have them for free: https://imgur.com/r5xe0re.jpg |

lol, how long ago? The market has changed a lot recently. |
I’d say anything around 10 or less for it would be a good deal. Gen 1s are getting harder and harder to find un-weinsteined. |

I'd be asking north of 10k for mine if I ever put it up. But I only have 110,000km on it (very much un-weinsteined), and well I'm never in a hurry to sell |
Not a good buy but a sweet unique nostalgic ride ... 1962 Volvo P1800, $18K ... not sure how to price these but I wouldn't pay that high. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...9121938163804/ https://scontent.fcxh3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...7Q&oe=62F93DA9 https://scontent.fcxh3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...DQ&oe=62F93436 |

Some of the big mod parts seem to be getting harder to find. I had the Whiteline ALK which made my car subjectively corner a lot better than without, the ALK was impossible to find for a few years though they either restarted production or someone found a stash somewhere and you can buy them again. |
Yeah, based on the on piano black trim one that in the craigslist ad it also looks like an 08.5. And yeah I wouldn't really know about what mods are out there, I haven't even so much as looked at them for my car. It's so stock, my rear shocks went a couple years ago and I just got OEM Mazda from the dealership. |

It's indeed a 2008.5. Winter wheels/tire included would be FD3S wheels |
