Tbh this would be a dream weekend car for me. EV daily, rip the Porsche when you feel like burning $$$.

Really nice car, but borderline offensive pricing for a car that hasn’t had the IMS done, and seems like it’s due for a clutch service although not nearly as large of a concern on 99s. It seems the constant of cars with IMS issues is low milage/cars that have sat.
Approaching 50k for an early 996 is at least 30% above market. That’s c4s pricing.

bcrdukes 08-22-2022 07:09 AM

Years ago, you couldn't give away a 996 without the IMS bearing done, and often they were listed anywhere between $25-$28K. Paying $48K for a 996 in this market climate is not recommended. Also, low mileage 996 is not a great idea. Ask me how I know.

If you had the coin, would you buy this classic?

1959 Porsche 911, 39K kms, $60K, pretty pristine condition.

It's a replica. The company that makes them is local out of New West. https://intermeccanica.com/custombuild/

JDMDreams 08-22-2022 10:11 PM

I didn't know they are made by the same people who make the solo? The name sounds familiar. I was just looking on their site and a solo is like $18000, do you get any grants? Not a bad price considering how much cars are these days, but I never see any around

donk. 08-22-2022 10:22 PM

Might as well buy a bicycle for 500$ at Walmart than a solo

fliptuner 08-23-2022 12:51 AM

356 Speedster rep. Considering a real one is 5-10x the price, hell yeah, I'd rock one.

Customize it, Boxer swap it, whatever. Wouldn't feel bad, modding a rep.

Manic! 08-23-2022 02:13 AM

Looks like they make an ev version of that Porsche also.

whitev70r 08-23-2022 06:04 AM

EV rep of those classics would be sick! Especially if they have the 'Tesla'/EV acceleration.

trollface 08-23-2022 06:25 AM

Did ya'll really think you were buying a real Bathtub 911 for 60k...

I'll take a dozen.

bcrdukes 08-23-2022 06:32 AM

If any of you have the means to buy this without your significant other murdering or divorcing you, $60K for this Intermeccanica build is a good deal. These cost $100K+ easily and there is a 2 - 3 year wait (maybe more given COVID.)

Intermeccanica is no longer building these. They're focusing on EV builds now.

I've driven one of these, they are awesome cars. Triple the hp of the original 356 is an absolute hoot.

bcrdukes 08-23-2022 06:53 AM

Ouch, RIP.

I would imagine the other builders in Southern California still make them and this would be $100K+ in USD. Restoration Design in Guelph still makes these but the wait time is years.

Price a bit steep but hard to find an E30 325is with a 2-owner history.

For Sale

1991 BMW 325is, Sports Model ‘is”, currently collector plated, Lady Driven

Black with Tan leather interior,

6 cylinders, 5 speed manual transmission, limited Slip differential, rear wheel Dive.

I purchased this vehicle in 1992 from the original owner and have enjoyed ‘Max” for the last 31 years, lightly driven and always maintained.

BMW Vancouver (1992-2010)

1998 – Engine was replaced because of oil pan damaged by Vancouver pothole
Maintenance as per BMW recommendations
Fairview Automotive (2010- 2015)

Maintenance as per BMW service interval recommendation
Blizkrieg Autowerks (2015 to date)

Maintenance as per BMW service interval recommendation

Always stored in secure Underground Parking, Max has always been my second vehicle (pleasure use) and I never thought I would consider selling. But life changes and I find that now that I am moving out of Vancouver it is no longer possible for me to keep Max.

MAX - the super awesome amazingly fun to drive Black 325is.

call me sexist, but every time i see lady driven i get a tinge or an eye twitch. Looking at the piss poor condition my wife leaves her cars, anything lady driven is an automatic ban for me.

bcrdukes 08-23-2022 01:06 PM

Ooof $19.5K

68style 08-23-2022 01:28 PM

Nevermind it has 230,000kms and it will NOT qualify for collector plates after purchase with those front seat cracks in the leather (yes you have to re-apply as the new owner even if the car already has them -- not transferrable).

I'm not saying 230,000kms is crazy for a 1990, it's not, but for $19,500 it is kinda crazy.

Judgement call, they're either all-in with spreadsheets and taking to someone else on the regular and washing/vacuuming every day... or they just drive it and let their husband/bf figure the keeping it running part out.

This.

And also when an ad says 'elderly owned' inferring it hasn't been beat when in reality most elderly owned car I've seen is super fucked from every body panel being used as parking feelers.

320icar 08-23-2022 01:42 PM

20k for an e30, can’t even be bother to replace the missing front lip. Jesus..

68style 08-23-2022 01:44 PM

License plate frame is from Blitzkrieg haha... at least matches her description... can't imagine an old lady taking her car to an aftermarket shop

She kind of snuck in the fact the engine was replaced too.

I would buy with confidence from our community here. I know you all gents treat your cars with respect and devote countless hours towards your respective rides.
….
…….

With the exception of trollface. I’m half expecting to find a McDouble hiding inside the glove box.

GLOW 08-23-2022 02:21 PM

does the car come with the mcdouble tho?

b/c they don't make them anymore :lawl:

68style 08-23-2022 02:23 PM

Crystal Pepsi is back at Walmart if anyone cares... literally sitting here sipping on one like it's 19-dickety-2 all over again. Would look great with that BMW (at 60% the listed price)
