With the exception of trollface. I’m half expecting to find a McDouble hiding inside the glove box.
You should see the NA Miata I bailed a friend out of. He bought one, had a little rust, then bought another and didn't realize it was missing about 12in of frame rail. I swapped every body panel that wasn't welded on and swaped the interior and AC in 36hrs.
The "doner" car had a safeway bag with a sponge in it to keep the speakers in place.
I would never leave a perfectly good Mcdouble in the glove box. Calories are calories.
call me sexist, but every time i see lady driven i get a tinge or an eye twitch. Looking at the piss poor condition my wife leaves her cars, anything lady driven is an automatic ban for me.
Maybe this will change the stereotype for lady driven

Always curious what these and Maserati Gran Turismo costs to maintain over a 5 year ownership period.
Same for insurance. I feel like there's so much value, it might be worth taking the plunge for a few years for fun.
Every time I look at Reddit, people who don't own the car mention $10K+ repairs but not sure if that's true.
Expect around 4-10k a year on maintenance for the maserati GT. That was roughly how much mine worked out to be. Insurance was 5k when the it was still classified as an exotic car. Maybe lower now depending on the year.
How much did you drive to crank up 10k a year in stuff?
less than 5000kms a year. it only had 44,000kms on it when i sold it
biggest maintenance i recall was 18,000 dollars for valve cover, coolant lines, engine mounts, power steering pump. I think i spent another 10,000 on lower control arms and shock absorbers for the front.
regular oil changes at ferrari maserati was 1k to 4k for service B
so yeah, roughly 4k-10k depending on if youre dealership servicing it. if you find an indy, im sure its significantly cheaper but good luck trying to sell that car afterwards with no dealership service records. people gonna run for the hills.
the guy who bought mine looked at it, didnt even drove it, read over the service records, saw that its a one owner since new, and instantly said ill take it.
heres a taste of exotic service $$$
Edit: remind you, this is a no accident, never tracked, garaged and babied example. I even go out of my way to avoid potholes and road imperfections. Basically the cleanest example you'll ever find in vancouver and it still cost me basically 40k in repairs over the years.
I can't help but wonder if an independent mechanic/garage could have done any of this work. Can't align? That's kind of dumb (but whatever, mechanics these days don't diagnose; They just replace stuff.)
In any case, a lot of this stuff looks like routine wear and tear and also because it was driven so little. I reckon these cars need to be driven regularly but people often hold on to them like it's the last unicorn on the planet (not directed to you, badhobz.)
If I ever landed one of these, I'd drive it across the country.
There's a blue one that's $55K. Thought I could get away with $2 - 4K/year.
$10k, I'm out.
go see it at least. rev' it, hear that italian v8 sing, and then make your choice. these cars are not a logical choice.. but my god do they provide theater. they also provide a shit ton of gold diggers who approach you in gas stations (good or bad) or just on the street.
This isnt a car you buy with your head but with your heart. you'll love it. LC cant really hold a candle to how good that ferrari v8 sounds. Even though toyota used the maserati GT as the benchmark for the sound testing on the LC, it still isnt the same. The maserati is both deeper at low rpm and more of a wail at higher rpm. its soooo good.. best in the business.

youre right. and really its my bad for babying the damn thing so much. I think ive only once in all those years took it for a rip on the sea to sky to whistler. I recall i woke up early, told the (looks around scared) biiiiitttttccchhhh that im going for a drive, and then snuck out at 5am and did a run. that thing was able to stay planted at almost any speed... utterly insane.
the v12 sounds worse, gets similar performance numbers 4.7ish 0-60, and generally less reliable (lawl) than the ferrari v8. its like that w12 continental, the right choice is the v8 conti
But for us poor people resale is important, I think a DB9 will hold its value more than a Maserati. And Aston should be high up on the exotic tier than Maserati.
Not according to the resale. I see these Aston vantages and db9s go for around 40 all the time. Same with the Maserati GT. If you get a Quatroportte they are cheaper. Only the GT holds its value comparable to the Aston.
Don’t get me wrong I love Aston’s too, hell I almost bought that new vantage. But I would say the maz GT is the best bang for the buck if you can work on it yourself or know a good indy. Aston parts are equal if not worse than the maz and they are worse for reliability.
