Not necessary a good buy, but this is something pretty interesting.

Literally came in the dealer last night, still detailing so no photos, but I took some before sending the car off.

The enthusiast special

Trendline
55,531 KMs
Leather seats
Sun roof
TDI = 236 lb-ft @ 1,750 rpm

Not sure if it is right to plug myself. But add me on WhatsApp 778 881 6968 (I got photos =D lol)

Car fax can be found in the link. But basically 1 collision claim (no amount though) back in 2015.

What's interesting about a golf?

The Producer 09-22-2022 11:39 AM

mk7 TDI's are pretty rare (dieselgate)

3 pedal too.

just drove my dad's mk7 tdi wagon down the duffy from the cariboo yesterday. great handling car, great torque for the hills, incredible MPG's

then i sat for 3 hours on the upper levels in it. :rukidding:

I love seeing prices like this for TDIs! Makes me very tempted to put mine up for sale. Any ideas as to what would be a fair price for a no accident, 140,000 kms, 4/5 condition, SEL Premium '14 Passat?

Only issue is, if I sell my baby, I don't know what I'd buy lol.

trollface 09-23-2022 11:05 AM

Good deal. Just need to find that right person to pick it up.

Bought one back in January this year. 06 model and 299999km. Took me 2 months to sell it after I had my fun.

Edit: it’s for sale again by new owner!

Spektrum! - I love the colour. Low miles. DSG. It drove great.
Dealer won't move much if at all on the $. It just hit the lot. This is basically the MSRP from 4 years ago :( 6 months warranty left.

Basically 10k cheaper. more miles, manual, in really good shape. A colour correction would make it look new. Been on the lot for awhile. No warranty.

I'm torn. Either way I'm trading in our E83 X3 for basically wholesale at most (like 3 grand)

Audi dealership experience was great - really liked the saleman.
VW dealership was fine - salesman knows there's nothing to negotiate. Props tho for sending us out alone for a half hour. I like that.

I want to get out of the X3 as painlessly as possible (anybody want it?) so trading it in despite the super low value is tempting.

No panic - I might just hold out through the winter. I can't devalue the X3 any more flogging it to whistler for the season and maybe the market will be a bit softer in the spring.

trollface 10-01-2022 08:13 PM

Yeah, im not paying those INSANE prices.

Honestly probe just give my parents the money for them to buy a few nice vacations.

Matsuda 10-01-2022 09:45 PM

dang.... *sells his*

68style 10-02-2022 09:25 AM

Well the custom paint was what a $5k option ?? and those cars always carry a premium so it’s not that bad.

westopher 10-02-2022 09:48 AM

Spectrum colours were only like $900 extra. That’s why it’s so goddamn stupid there aren’t more of them around. People suck at specing new cars.

It was 4K. But I agree

I’m going to give it a few more days. If it goes quick it was priced right. If it’s there after the long weekend I’ll go back w a cash number.

Dealers don't make money from those because they dont finance used cars in house as far as I know.

The custom colors were deff 4k, not 900. I say that's one of the not so great custom colors...not many ppl want a baby blue car.

Unless you REALLY need a new car, buying now is mad. All those R's are 35k cars pre covid. I say you run your X3 into the ground.

JDMDreams 10-02-2022 02:46 PM

Just wait till they finally admit the recession in 6 months and buy from repo

Dealers make money from financing for sure. The finance department will shop around for the best rates. If you don't qualify for regular car loans, some larger dealers will do in house financing with some pretty awful rates.

I'd say if you're set on a baby blue Golf R and your plan is to keep it for the long run, then get it. How long do you plan to keep it for?

Matsuda 10-02-2022 03:16 PM

I wish I specced out a spektrum colour when I bought mine =( but I couldn't wait any longer for a car to come in at the time

a long time. I'm willing to pay more for a spektrum - it will likely hang onto it's premium value over a non as they both depreciate.

I really like the colour - in person, it's more like a Gulf blue. I think I could add some subtle orange branding to the car for my shop. Maybe a sill stripe.

but trollface is right - they are all too pricy.

Got a buddy that wants to look at my X3 this week - if he takes it we'll revisit the plan.

4 year old out of warranty cars selling for their MSRP is INSANITY.

320icar 10-02-2022 07:12 PM

Agreed. I don’t plan to ever sell my RS. But when I see other options on the market, knowing I could get over msrp for my car… could get me into something pretty nice.

Fixed

Badhobz 10-03-2022 03:32 AM

These days the wraps are so good and affordable that it makes no sense to buy a car based on color. Most of these wrap shops can do a whole car for less than 4k. Those wraps will last 4years + so it’s not too bad and will protect the car as well.
