This seems like a lot of car with low mileage for $31k. RWD versions of these are quite rare and the turbo 4 in this is supposedly reliable.

The 2018 and 2019 are the ones you want with the interior refresh.

That grey one has 12k claim on it. Also, I am poor.

bcrdukes 10-28-2022 12:16 PM

Poor but wants to buy a Golf R.

trollface 10-28-2022 12:17 PM

Badhobz 10-28-2022 03:26 PM

Who cares about the interior refresh. My 2017 mk7 had a perfectly acceptable interior and that black one is cheaper !!!! Just buy that one

trollface 10-28-2022 03:43 PM

If it it ain't right, it ain't tight

Badhobz 10-28-2022 03:53 PM

:fulloffuck:

gawd damn kids nowadays. OHH IT HAS TO BE PERFECT.. OHH ITS TOO EXPENSIVE.. OHH ITS BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT w/ 12k worth of damage. BLAH BLAH BLAH

WHEN we were poor, we bought and drove around in dirt bag civics and sentras with like 200k on the clock and held together by bondo. The cars had more bondo than fucking metal.

YOU DO YOU TROLLY. YOU DO YOU!!!!

circa 2010-2015, i was driving this piece of shit to work every day. YEAH, LOOK AT IT. its magnificent.

https://i.postimg.cc/3JtCd0bS/DSC-0372.jpg
300,000k's on the clock was still going strong. sold it for 1000 bucks

radeonboy 10-28-2022 04:55 PM

^that thing is probably worth $5k in today's market lol

I have a soft spot for that generation of Camry - it's what my parents brought me home in when I was born.

Badhobz 10-28-2022 05:02 PM

Awww yahhhh. It had manual lumbar support too. Rat fur seats. Best daily to ever daily.
I had a ton of people laugh at me for driving this rust bucket (wife included).

Gerbs 10-28-2022 05:40 PM

I found driving rust buckets made me enjoy $5 - 10K cars, then up to $20k and now $30 - 40k lol. When I get drive a new Toyota it's still semi exciting.

Imagine having a M5 in highschool/college and now you gotta daily a 328i or 335i, I'd probably be depressed.

Badhobz 10-28-2022 05:51 PM

really nothing's perfect. your life, your spouse, your children, your house, nothing in your life is perfect. why should your car be. Figure out what are the most important attributes of what you absolutely want and just go for it.

In trolly's case, i think hes too much of a perfectionist. That dream golf R 4 cheap just aint gonna happen. Good shit you gotta pay for, cheap shit you gotta compromise. If i was him, and i wanted a golf R that badly, id take that 2015 one with no hesitation.

Ah you think high mileage is your ally? You merely adopted the high mileage. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see a car with 200k until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!

(437k on my 87 Celica when I bought it. 268k on my 92 Celica after that. Finally 180k on my GTFour. Then 240k on my Cherokee lol.)

Like 9k for a brake job on one of these not including calipers.

trollface 10-28-2022 06:40 PM

Why do you need new calipers for a brake job? Pretty sure you can get generic rotors for all 4 corners for 700 bucks on Rockauto?

donk. 10-28-2022 07:23 PM

Badhobz pics of the Camry with the description made me hard

trollface 10-28-2022 07:46 PM

I'll keep buying Lottomaxes.

twitchyzero 10-28-2022 08:33 PM

what's the value delta between your vintage datsun and golf R

i too dont see how it's unobtanium if you really want it

not like they're gonna get any cheaper

trollface 10-28-2022 08:43 PM

Pretty large, I would not sell it anyways; put too much blood sweat and tears into it.

I think the crux of the problem is this city is getting more and more expensive. Driving a 45k car seems...excessive. To compound this, my folks never had much coin, so it feels opulent.

Badhobz 10-28-2022 09:48 PM

Bro just get the 33k one. You’re gonna modify it anyways. I think the mk7.5 infotainment can be retrofitted to the mk7 without much work.

That's pretty shocking... I tried finding more info online about this but haven't come across anything in that range - where'd you learn about this?

bcrdukes 10-29-2022 10:44 AM

For the Quadrifoglio running the carbon ceramic brakes and being done by the dealership using original parts, it can be a $9K job but on a regular Giulia, one can use aftermarket parts. Alfa parts from the dealer are unnecessarily expensive.

trollface 10-29-2022 11:42 AM

Dont carbon ceramics last literally forever on a street car?
