Damn. never seen one locally... VR4 Spyder too!

Badhobz 11-21-2022 08:07 AM

woah! gran turismo 1/2 flashbacks. I love these damn things

"This 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT Spyder VR-4 was purchased new by a locally owner and has been registered in Vancouver B.C. since new"

If its since new why the heck does it have MPH instead of KM/H !?

I always loved the 1999/2000 model year which only lasted 2 year before they axed it

https://i.redd.it/xqrcysjeos441.jpg

I just realized that the maserati granturismo looks like the spiritual successor to this (design/styling wise).

Ignorant Car sales people being car sales people.

IIRC it was dodge stealth only and not the mitsu 3000GT here.

Is the convertible setup an OEM job or was it done by that California company that did third party vert conversions on a bunch of cars in the 90's? That might explain why it's in miles.

westopher 11-21-2022 11:45 AM

It’s OE. Ridiculous car in vert form though. It’s like 4000#

I'm reading it as a resident here went over and bought the car there and brought it back.

American Specialty Car (the California company) designed it for Mitsubishi

@donk why are you failing that post? I don't see anything wrong with it, and tofu is right. The 3000GT was never sold new in Canada. Mitsubishi didn't even enter the Canadian market before the 3kGT production ended.

Badhobz 11-22-2022 10:45 PM

I dun think they even make 21” tires lololoolol

This vert ratrolla will be getting some proper “touring tires” instead of these pointlessly expensive run flat Michelin pilot super sports. I mean wtf is the point of putting such a high performance tire on a 4500lb monster ?

I've known the seller for almost 10 years though we haven't talked much since Covid. Thing is babied and barely driven. He's a mechanic and knows these cars inside out. Definitely not a good buy perse but it's 1 of 1829 and these never came to Canada.

Badhobz 11-23-2022 05:50 AM

Is this thing going to be like a Saab in the future where engine parts are easily available, but if you get a fender bender or something than your car’s written off because they don’t make the body panels anymore ?

trollface 11-23-2022 06:31 AM

Is that the lamer version of the GTO?

68style 11-23-2022 07:47 AM

^No... the GTO was a bad marketing attempt to bring the previous model Holden over using a storied name.

The next gen they called the G8 to give the car it's own nameplate off the next gen Holden.

Unfortunately in Canada all we ever got were the V6 and regular V8 models... GXP was USA only and super rare, especially in manual. Little bit unfortunate that this one is an automatic.

You can also get a very similar car in the Chevrolet SS that barely anyone knows existed (also USA only).

G0rilla 11-27-2022 05:54 AM

Toyota tax is real, but you could drive it for a few years and probably not lose much. Those v8s are desirable

trollface 11-27-2022 08:41 AM

I know someone that bought a V8 4 runner with 200k and it blew up two weeks after lol

Badhobz 11-27-2022 10:51 AM

Was it you !?!!!!

hud 91gt 11-27-2022 11:40 AM

Getting a real hard on for these Volvos right now. Next best thing after an E30 looks wise.
