I'm shocked ^

CLS should be pretty much an E class, which is used as taxis all around the world. It should be relatively reliable engine and trans wise.

Chassis sure, the engine and trans are completely different, you aren't driving a E200D around.

That CLS reminds me that there used to be a white one parked on a driveway on Kingsway, just west of the Joyce intersection. It was there for many years and moss was growing on it. Then it disappeared. I was always curious what happened to it.

Puzzle car. Some E. Some S. Then there is Airmatic factored in.

Always had a thing for these, nice lines, long roof, nice profile ... 2012 MB e63 Wagon, only 121K kms, $39K though (not a good buy imo). But one of the baddest soccer mom wagons! Got a timeless elegant classy look for a 10 yo car ... it was over $100K new fwiw.

I would love that. Even if I can buy it, I can't afford to run it as a soccer dad car.

JDMDreams 12-27-2022 09:39 AM

Not sure if debadged for looks or repaint? Even the e63 of that gen was pretty subtle.

Carfax is on autotrader

https://vhr.carfax.ca/?id=XUriqJ58se...damage-section

It was auctioned off in MTL in 2014, for some reason listed as accident repair?

Used to walk by it everyday! I thought it was a CL550

whitev70r 12-27-2022 12:35 PM

I'd agree ... except after 2019 ... a V60 T6 AWd would be suhweet ...

A base model V60 T8 (non-Polestar) for under $60k pre-tax is a pretty decent deal, plus it qualifies for federal and provincial incentives totalling $7,000. Great sleeper wagon with 400hp on tap, decent EV-only range, and HOV access.

Lifter tick.... my step dads jeep died 80km after having a lifter tick

Then again, I don't know enough about engines if that would happen to this car

68style 12-29-2022 08:30 AM

It's all being rebuilt if you get to the end of his story... so won't be an issue haha

tofu1413 12-29-2022 08:30 AM

hmm.

Looks like an F20C should drop into there.

Franken cossie it

68style 12-29-2022 08:49 AM

Why would you want to put a relatively weak and peaky S2K motor into a space where a block that can take 700hp just was? haha

F20C swap definitely has its place, but this is not one of them IMO

Gerbs 12-29-2022 10:01 AM

I heard F20C swaps are $20K+ lol.

trollface 12-29-2022 10:37 AM

Because a peaky 4 cylinder is just as fun as a boosted 4 cylinder with a bit of turbo lag.

Looks like a K series should fit as well. can run some boost on a K and mount it north south.

You couldn’t be more wrong. Sell the motor parts on eBay etc, make a bunch of your money back and drop in the 2.3 ecoboost/6spd trans from the mustang. New tech and power in a fantastic chassis.

tofu1413 12-30-2022 08:36 AM

But I'd like a high strung NA 4 cylinder in that thing :drunk:

Is it really a fantastic chassis? Or is it just nostalgia? I feel like it'll drive like a giant wet noodle considering it's age and tech without a lot of work.
